Hello,
One of the candidates to peform my vaginoplasty recommended that I start genital electrolysis as soon as possible, so I can have the surgery tentatively in June.
I live in NY, and have Fidelis Medicaid managed health care. I know that the cost of genital electrolysis is covered under the law for NYS Medicaid recipients who want to have gender affirming surgeries. I cannot find any information currently online about how to get the proceedure covered. Does anyone know how to get genital electrolysis covered by a Medicaid managed health care plan such as Fidelis?
Thank you in advance of your help.
Sincerely,
Caitlyn

But i think with medicaid one has to pick the one from such medicaid list ? I am guessing ... it seem like such a run around ... I wonder how long she had to wait to get approved by medicaid to be honest
Dr. Ting is the only surgeon in NY that I can think of who is capable of performing vaginoplasties, and his office his willing to work with NY Medicaid managed health care plans. Dr. Kaufman hasn't performed a vaginiplasty, yet.

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Just to clarify - I'm not looking for places to have electrolysis performed. I'm trying to find out if anyone experience getting a Medciaid managed health care plan, in my case Fidelis, to cover the cost of electrolysis for GRS.
