So I´ve been running around like a headless chicken attempting to inform myself about ways to escape the monopoly of gender healthcare that exists in this country (Netherlands).
They have a 6+ month waiting list and then they make you go through another 6 to 12 months so they can "observe" if you really are transgender. Then if according to them you are trans, you get to go on another waiting list for HRT.
I´m in a deep depression because of this nonsense and I know of some people who have gotten their hormones through the U.S (by mail). What I´m not sure of is whether I can have a telephonic consultation with a gender specialist in the U.S or whether I need to be physically present.
I can then take the hormones and have my regular blood tests with my local GP.
Do I need to mail around to gender specialists in the U.S to see what their position is? Do any of you guys know of specialists who do this? Do you have suggestions?
The official way to do this is to physically go to a doc/endo/informed consent clinic.
There are places in London and the UK,
and in the US and Australia.
In the US and Australia there are endos who do hormone pellet implants.
So there is no more medication necessary.
Costs are between 2-4k usd per year and usually two visits per year, to replace pellets.
Requirements for medical supervision by a local doctor vary, depending on endo.

I was in a similar predicament and did solve it in the end. In the UK it is actually legal to import what I need provided it is for personal use. GP kind enough to monitor bloods and I keep him informed of my dosages. It's as safe as I can get for now until I get to the top of the lists.
Sorry I can't give any useful details in recognition of the site rules but can offer warnings you will already have considered.
Namely it's a total gamble in the end and there's no way to tell what you are really being sent (could be fake or even poison) but for me it was a life of death chance I was prepared to take.
When holding my first tablets I said to myself "these will kill you or cure you" then took them with no hesitation and ,ever the optimist, I waited to die......
I got lucky, I actually won and my prize is my life with the complete restoration of my mind, heart and even soul that the meds gave me.
I'll be first to hold my hands up to taking a pretty crazy gamble but for me it did totally pay off as I have healed so much as to be a real live person.
Will finish by echoing popular thought. Check out informed consent or wait out the list times. If there is another legit option for Netherlands I'm sure someone will point it out.
Amsterdam to Bangkok. Just pulled up the cheap flights. Fly tomorrow (6/25). 10 flights at $450 US price range. Any drug store will sell you hormones. But? What type? What dosage? That's why you need the blood workup. Plenty of places in Bangkok can do that. Same day. You could be back in Holland in 72 hrs. Or? Stick around a week and enjoy yourself. Compare that with your EU, UK, US, Australian wait times. Hit me up. Of course I can provide details. Also some mail order places. Ya still need to be tested. Regularly!!! ;D
