So my new Dr just prescribed Spiro that I can start immediately after getting some blood work done. I wish they had told me to fast today or that would be done. Oh well.
The Estradiol injections will wait until May 26th (ugh... I've waited 45 years, I can wait another 2 months) my question is, what will I notice (I know YMMV) in two months on just Spiro?
Addendum -Does Spiro alone count for being on HRT?
You should notice a reduction in the discomfort you feel within a couple of weeks if the Spiro is sufficient to control your T levels. You could see changes to your skin as well as acne reduction with less oily skin if you have problems with that. In my opinion, yes Spiro counts as starting HRT.
Grats! In two months you should see your t-levels come down. In that amount of time, mine went waaay down to almost nothing, but then I was also on E and P so I don't know if that makes a difference. With your t-levels down, your sex drive (if you have one) will likely decrease or disappear altogether, and you'll probably get tired. Again, I was also on E and P, so I think any other changes I experienced could be because of those, but I know lack of testosterone alone will certainly drain your energy, especially without another sex hormone taking over.
As for spiro alone being considered HRT, I would say in a technical sense, no. You're replacing one hormone with another, so a t-blocker is only the first step in doing so.
Drink enough water and eat enough salt as Spiro will increase loss of both. This is very important to do to avoid side-effects like cramps, tiredness, fatigue, dizziness. What is strange is that E injections alone reduce T to female levels so why take Spiro? Could you possibly ask your doctor next time? Let us know what they say. Thanks.
Congrats! It's a beginning.
Congrats. It's definitely a good starting point as you get your T levels lowered. Hugs

You can expect more visits to the bathroom, other than that it's all good
