Title: My Informational Guide for family/friends
Post by: byanyothername on March 17, 2016, 12:45:59 PM
Hello :-)

I wanted to share this with you in case you found it useful. I was thinking of creating a generic presentation at some point which you could use if you wanted, but we will see what everybody thinks of it first.

So after coming out to friends and family, I am sending them this link. It's a presentation format called Microsoft Sway and it's just a bit of background information for them on the following topics:

1. What is 'transgender'?
2. Why are you doing this?
3. What happens next?

Here it is: https://sway.com/rOEAyE8NkfPwYqCK

Let me know what you all think!

Well done!

Makes me wonder what I'll do if the time ever comes.

I couldn't make it past the C's in that 237 transitions video. Reminds me too much I'm not done yet.

Thanks everyone, I spent the evening coming out to various 'geographically challenged' family members over the phone and they were all super nice and thought the presentation thing was really useful!

Very good work. I like not only the way you made use of a program/service like Microsoft Sway but also how the presentation was put together and the images and video included within. That said, would you mind if I borrow a point or two from the presentation?

Brilliant job, Emily. I was moved by how similar your story is to my own. If you don't mind, I think I may use this as inspiration for something similar to aid with helping my family members better understand my own coming out and transition process. Very well done!
