"Tony Perkins, the leader of the anti-LGBT Family Research Council, will advise the Republican Party on policy.

The notorious Christian activist has made a number of extremely disturbing claims about gay people in the past, insisting that gay people will attempt a 'Christian Holocaust'.

He claims that Christians are being sent to "camps", and that soon gays are "going to start rolling out the boxcars to start hauling off Christians"."

This is not surprising or unexpected.  He and some others with similar theories have been  well supported by evangelicals and tea partiers for years. They are their subject matter experts for anything even remotely related to sex.  They have been setting the tone already for well over a decade in the background so their serving directly as policy advisors is just more of the same.

Ted Cruz hosted these folks along with a "death to gays" pastor at a rally. Needless to say, he did NOT get my vote in the primary.

The way some of them act... it would be tempting. But no, we're much better people than that.

I think this is what's technically known as "projection." He wishes he could do that with us.
