"...Just to see what the poor women of apps, such as Tinder, have to put up with, Comedian Sy Thomas, decided to masquerade as a woman to fool a load of men and see what kind of pick-up lines they would throw at him......"

I saw this on hellou.co.uk
I was kind of disappointed with this story. I thought it would be socially relevant. Instead it was sort of humorous. I didn't find any of the responses shocking, though some of them were admittedly funny.
That Harry Potter line was quite amusing.
But yeah, I wonder what else he was expecting? This is exactly the kind of stuff from men on dating sites that I've seen women writing about for years now.
If he wants to know what kinds of skanky pick-up lines women have to put up with, he can ask practically any woman...

Actually, the stuff posted here was a whole lot more clever that the stuff I see IRL.
It seems like there are a lot of cis guys that think they need to prove things that women have been talking about for years - "It's true! A man proved it was true! You thought all those ladies were exaggerating!"

Yeah, it IS kind of funny & pedantic...
More effective, I think, was "Self Made Man" by Norah Vincent, and the aftermath - after pretending to be a man for several months, I think it was, she had to go to a mental hospital for a while to recover.
In parallel, many males choose a female character in video games, hoping for a split-second advantage (also not news.) :-)
