Title: Areola growth?
Post by: NataliaDoll on March 24, 2016, 11:39:37 PM
I've been on hrt for 9 months just talking about my breasts right now they have grown to a full A cup and see they are still growing but I haven't experienced that much areola growth? Pre hrt my areola were non existent they have grown alittle and are there but they aren't really that big? I have seen other trans women with large areolas has anyone had any areola growth?

They look bigger to me, but I haven't made measurements in this area to know for sure or to give you anything quantitative.  It feels like there is something harder behind them too, which was not there before.

Just as with genetic women, areola growth/size is lottery. Some have massive areola, others experience next to no growth/change... and breast size is not a predictor either.

My first time on HRT produced no areola expansion at all.  I attained an A cup, but had tiny areola and nipples.

This time around has been much different.  There is definite expansion and nipple enlargement.  As Ms. Grace mentions, it has to do with genetics, but I think it also has to do with the system priming to estrogen reception.  Also consider that external factors may be influencing things when you are looking, temp being a big one...mine shrivel up when it is cold but expand with a little massage.  This is consistent with my girlfriends as well.

Mine have almost tripled in size already. It's probably the most significant thing I have had developing in that area so far. There is a hard lump behind them that spans the whole diameter which is probably why.

Definite increase in areola size which seems to be affected by both estrogen and progesterone.

Mine grew to exactly the female average.

Mine are exactly the same size they were when I'm a guy. There have been no changes to my nipples.  :(

I have and continue to see growth in that area, same with the nipples. I was recently comparing pics to make sure what I was seeing was real and yep mine have most definitely enlarged more past year.

Mine are well above female average.

Mine have increased in diameter, and also become slightly raised and puffy. I assume it's all genetic and results will vary.

mine didn't enlarge that much, 1.3 time maybe, but look completely different... very female like, and the color faded to pinky... and yes are smaller if chilly, larger if warm.

... it's very cool  :icon_dance: Just missing a little more volume...

what is a ''full A cup?'' I don't own a bra... oh, maybe I do, but why would I wear a bra? they don't need support...

hmmm does that mean I don't have an A cup?  ??? AA?  :-\ how does it work? :icon_confused2: )

Mine are a bit larger in diameter, not much. The nipple is slightly larger ... now difficult to wear any kind of a shirt without a bra.

I'm going to surmise that a portion of areola growth is less about the areola itself, and more about how the skin decides to stretch as the breast grows.

Theory:  If breast tissue pushes outward sooner, you'll see more natural stretch on the areola.  If the outward push is gradual, but your breast "fullness" increases more gradually, there will be less stress and stretch on the areolas over time.

Obviously, that's overly simplistic, and if you're like me and had minor man boobs to begin with, there's going to be less stretching either way because the skin was there and is just being filled in differently.

My breasts are very shallow and do not require support outside of physical activity such as jogging, but alas I am an F cup.

Measure the circumference underneath your breasts. Then measure the circumference of your bust while making sure that it is gentle enough to not squish the tissue. Then, subtract the underbust from the bust, and for each inch of difference add a cup. (Ex. underbust: 31, bust: 39. 39-32=7=32F, 39-30=9=30G). Pick the band that works best if you fall on an odd number.

Mine don't need support but they're incredibly sensitive and since my nipples became a lot bigger and stay erect, its a bit embarrassing so I wear a bra at all times when I'm out plus to protect them. There's been a few times a bra saved my boobs, I'm really clumsy...

Also padded bras balance out my figure nicely so it looks like I have an hourglass shape.

So like about the cup size thing. It wasn't until most of my muscle mass disappeared that I could fit the cup completely and comfortably. I always say I'm a full A because for all the 34A cup bras I've ever worn my bewbs fit them perfectly but the band size is too big so I wear a 32b which has the same cup volume as a 34a.
