Title: Hair effects
Post by: Angelyng357 on March 25, 2016, 02:06:33 AM
I've already asked about how MTF HRT affects body hair, and i have a good idea about facial hair.  I'm just wondering what effect HRT has on head hair?  I already have a receding hairline, so will i have to look at balding reversal things or will HRT help fix that somewhat? what about texture and growth speed? oil production?

From what I've read from others and a tiny bit of my own experience your best choices are hair replacement post ffs.

HRT will stop receding but regrowth is slow if not none existent. Some have reported a tint amount of regrowth but time frames are 4-5 yrs to see anything...

I also have the same problem and have tried rogain pre hrt, no regrowth after 2 month, post hrt no regrowth after 1 month. Other fem products have also shown no regrowth but I can report some have filled my long boy cut.

So the way I see it at least for myself is I will get ffs in 2yrs then get hair transplant 1yr after. In my mind those things have to happen before I will go out...

Sry this kinda got about me.. I'm not a writer and just give my perspective from my experience and hope you relate and learn from my experience.

YMMV Always. So try things and see what happens. But don't hold to much hope for the products and start save 7k for transplants.

With Love
Ashley.

HRT will stop further hair loss (receding) and might reverse some hair loss, depending on when hair loss occurred, how long ago and area of scalp (vertex, usually more responsive vs. frontal).

Hair may grow faster and longer (due to prolonged anagen, growing phase). As to texture, it might also become thicker due to lower DHT levels. Oil/sebum production will definitely drop as androgens increase this and estrogens decrease this.

good to know.  I'll hope for a fair amount of regrowth and also hope my being young is a good factor for that. and that  HRT isn't that far away for me.  but if i need transplants, thats ok.  just a small price to pay.
