Title: Why can't I blame it on the T???
Post by: FtMitch on March 25, 2016, 01:36:38 PM
As is the story of my life, I was a jerk again yesterday and now I may lose my job, the one with pro-trans insurance.  My temper got the best of me and I pissed people off again by being a harsh jerk wad.  I wish SO bad I could blame it on the T.  I M almost jealous of people who get angrier on T, but the truth is I have always been a hair trigger.  T hasn't had any effect at all.  But I am practically despairing now, furious at myself for letting myself lose it again, and stressing out over the wait to find out what my superiors say.  If you pray, please pray for me now.  Losing this job will have a really terrible effect on my life.

Big hug! I don't pray, but I certainly know about pressing the self destruct button. Been there a few times.

A job is a job, we do it because we have to, not because we want to. The best thing to do if you know you behaved poorly is to apologize, and move on. That's all people in the workplace are really looking for.

Hope it goes well for you.

Hugs, Devlyn

Praying for you and sending you love ...

you can do a few things for yourself ....

hold on to an image of a good outcome, see this coming to a good conclusion, feel it ...
keep an image of it turning out all right ...
and if you have intuitively a feeling to do something do it ...
may it be calling people or whatever ...

apart from that try to find the cause of your anger, and deal with it.
A quick solution can be to always count to ten before taking any kind of action, like making a harsh reply or whatever.

*hugs*

Sending out prayers and positive thoughts! Like Devlyn said, the most you can do is apologize and hope for the best. Have you looked into any kind of anger management in the past?

T hasn't made me any more angry or aggressive, but it has made me less patient.

Maybe get ahead of the curve and go to your supervisors and talk about what happened and show some remorse. In the meantime, if it isn't the T talking then maybe think about how you can manage your anger better to stop it from happening again.

I agree with Ms Grace I lost my cool a few years ago and went off on a shift supervisor at work to the point that I thought I was going to be fired but I was honest   and admitted to what I did. I ended up not even getting a write up. Being honest may or may not  save your job but it may help.

Agreeing with being honest with your supervisors. Apologetic but really honest. If it doesn't work out, it wasn't meant to be! Better things are always coming.
