Title: Downstairs Question
Post by: Preston on March 27, 2016, 11:49:41 AM
Is it true that testosterone can change discharge? I'm having a weird, almost clumpy, discharge. But there is no itching, burning, or pain. Has anyone else experienced this?

With less estro its possible there is more dryness in that area.

*hugs*

I've read that we may be more prone to bacterial infection on T. The good news is that bacterial infections tend to have a strong, bad odor, so if there's no odor it's likely benign. Hope that helps.

Like Laura said, T can cause dryness and atrophy. I have not heard that it makes you any more or less susceptible to bacterial infections. I have noticed that I'm more prone to UTIs when I'm having downstairs growth spurts, but that's about as weird as it's gotten for me.

I just had a bacterial infection and when I asked my doctor if it was due to T, she said that's a myth. There is a change in pH balance but mostly it affects the discharge and dryness.

Personally I'm the opposite of dry now, and coupled with the fact that I'm pretty fuzzy downstairs and in a relationship with a gay man, it most likely just an issue of not being extra careful when cleaning up.

To answer the original question,  I had some changes in discharge. Mostly it was thicker and at times almost tacky.  My doctor advised me to drink extra water which did seem to help, as I was always trying to stay hydrated but failing since I lived in a really hot place. If you do notice a strong odor contact your doctor. You'll be able to tell if it's a smell that means something is wrong, trust me. Also if the discharge is yellow, brown or green you should go to a doctor immediately.

I'd think it's pretty normal, but I always say if you have any doubts or concerns, call your doctor. A few seconds on the phone can do wonders for your state of mind.

Discharge changed for me, made it more watery like. It cleans up a lot better than pre t which is awesome for me. I haven't had any issues.

Same with me! I used to have the most discharge but after starting T it's more watery and easier to handle
