Title: Just one of the girls/guys
Post by: WallabyWallop on March 29, 2016, 04:52:59 PM
I have recently come out to several of my friends and the response has been just been absolutely amazing from everyone.

In particular, I've noticed that some of my female friends have changed their behavior around me in subtle (and very positive) ways. We talk more about girly things, which is perhaps to be expected, but they gossip to me more than they did before and they're also more touchy. Hugs and a touch on the shoulder after something funny are way more common than they used to be and I've noticed that they often lean in closer when taking. One has gone so far as to invite to me to a girl's only movie night sleepover on the day I come out to my parents, nail painting, junk food, the works! ;D

As someone who has always interacted more easily with women, experiencing these interactions as a transwoman has been just beyond wonderful. My friends have even started referring me to as 'girl' and 'girlfriend' in conversation.

If anyone else has had similar experiences, or has seen this from the other side as a transgender man, I'd love to read shared stories!
