Title: Is it normal?
Post by: supergirl23 on April 06, 2016, 08:32:15 PM
Hey
I know that I'm new to these forums but would really like to know something. I identify as a woman now, this much I know. But when I am talking about being a transsexual I feel a little aroused by it. I don't have a fetish for transgender people because I am a woman. But why would I feel such a way when just thinking about being trans? Does any of this even make sense? I apologize if it doesn't, I just wanted to know if anybody knows anything about this.

It's pretty common and it will fade at some point in treatment. It might with HRT as the blocker takes effect or when you start your social transition. I felt that way sometimes before I started my transition and it faded for me when I made a social transition.

My opinion, don't let it bother you. I wrestled with this a while, but found that it really wasn't important. As a transgender person you do have a sexuality. I think, thinking of being yourself is an exciting thing.

I have noticed that it has faded since realising my true identity. Thank you, for awhile there I thought that was quite weird.

So what you're saying is that I'm becoming aroused, because I'm think about becoming my true self?

It's because of the testosterone.  Think about it.  With high testosterone running in the system someone can become aroused by nearly any random thought if they allow themselves to be.  It's the nature of the beast.

I think there can be a bit more to it than that. Some of us repress our sexuality because the sexuality offered to us by society doesn't feel right for us. Realizing that the sexuality appropriate to us IS possible is bound to be arousing once that pressure is lifted.

T blockers sound really nice right about now...

I think there is arousal thinking about being your true self. I think cis-women get aroused when they feel good about themselves, when they are in touch with their sensual side (not necessarily sexual side). Why wouldn't transgender women not get the same feeling. It is just that in preop trans women the penis is still their to react. This is a doubt causing situation for someone who is not penis oriented. It can cause stress, but in my opinion it is normal. If feelings only go as deep as getting aroused sexually only, then I would question being transgender.

Thank you so much for the advice, but I just started reading about  ->-bleeped-<- and am really scared that this might be my case. I understand that it is controversial. But if anybody could help enlighten me on this topic that would be great.

->-bleeped-<- is a forbidden topic on this site because it the doctor who developed it is anti transgender and the theory has been proven false. Transgender consist of many variations and this is an inclusive site where all are welcome.

Wait until you are farther in treatment before you start to judge your feelings because they will change as you become more yourself and the grip of testosterone is reduce. Our brain responds poorly to Testosterone and I think it causes our sexuality to be expressed improperly. I know I was very ashamed of some of the thoughts I had while still under the influence of testosterone but I haven't been troubled by those thoughts for a very long time.

So I shouldn't worry about at all until I'm actually transitioning?

Don't worry about it until the blocker are at a level that your testosterone levels are suppressed to feminine levels. In addition, if you look at the doctor behind it, he took over the John Hopkins gender program with the sole goal of shutting down the program. Anything written by that doctor is suspect.

Thank you so much! I was really worried there for a moment!  I completely forgot that gender and sexuality were separate.
