Title: Yeah...I peed there.
Post by: JustZac on April 07, 2016, 12:39:20 AM
Last weekend (at 37 weeks on T), I finally gathered the courage to use the men's room. My husband escorted me, after months of discussing "the rules". I was pretty sure I was all cool about it, but he teased me afterward, saying that my eyes were so wide and I moved a bit like a robot. LOL!

Still...that was awesome.

That must have been a relief in more ways than one!

great you got the first time out of the way, and can use the men's more often.  I use the men's whenever I am out and need to go.  It has become 2nd natural for me, walk in passed the urinals to a stall, do my business, always my hands even thought many don't.  No one really looks or says anything to anyone usually.

Congratulations! The restrictive barriers need to be eliminated. I have seen cis-women on various occasions presenting as women using the men's room without encountering any problems or recourse. The same has not been true for women's restrooms.  The problems would be totally eliminated if all public restrooms would be multi-user coed-unisex with private stalls.

The problems would also go away if the dnozzles promoting trans-panic would crawl back into their holes and go away at least until the next time someone needs the devil on the shoulder counterpart.

It feels good to know you are making progress doesn't it? Who knew preforming a bodily function in public would be affirming.
I only started using the men's room last month. I likely could have gotten away with it earlier but had doubts until a young man ushered me towards the men's dressing room last time I had gone to try clothes, and the whole month leading to that I had received nothing but buddy, brother, man, and sir from strangers. I don't go out very often so I never had a lot of room to gauge where I was for a long time.

You seem to be around the same time on T as me (maybe a month further). Probably best to get used to the men's room. Don't want to startle the ladies. The whole trans restroom debacle is dumb enough without us getting anymore people worked up.

Bah. Just mentioning the restroom issues makes me mad though. As far as I know there have been 0 cases where a trans* individual has attacked anyone in a restroom. I'm pretty sure if you flipped it around, a lot of trans women have probably been hurt or harassed. Much more likely.

Thanks, everyone! It's so funny how such a little thing can be so affirming.

Wanderingface - This past Thursday was 38 weeks on T for me. Siri isn't recognizing my voice anymore. So...yeah...I think you're right. It's time.
