Ever since going on T my urine has been close to clear white, when it's usually very noticeably yellow. Should I be concerned and consult my GP or just ignore it? Anyone else had this? Tomorrow marks my 1 week on T.
My urine is always clear because I drink about a gallon of water a day. If you're drinking more clear liquids, yours probably will be too. If you haven't changed what you're consuming at all, I would mention it at least.
Having white urine generally means that you have been drinking alot of water and generally is a good sign. As long as your kidneys don't hurt. Try less water consumption and it should turn more yellow.
T makes you retain more water (tubular reabsorbtion), so it should actually be a bit more concentrated than it was, or darker - UNLESS you are drinking more water than you used to (and which is certainly possible). I would mention it either way. T can be a bit harsh on the kidneys, which is fine IF they are healthy... but otherwise, T is contraindicated. Best to just get it checked out.
Too, you shouldn't be drinking so much water that it's perfectly clear or close enough to (healthy is like straw) - you're flirting with water poisoning. And I speak from experience on that one. I was literally stripping my kidneys out, never mind the electrolyte imbalance, per my endo (and this was well before T; my excessive thirst was due to insulin and cortisol problems and my body apparently trying to dilute them that way). If you can't cut back the amount, you should SIP the water - not drink it all down at once, that will definitely help.
Also, caffeine will make the situation worse. The more you pee, the thirstier you get, the more you drink, the more this will ultimately be exacerbated. Go easy on the diuretics until you find out what's going on, if anything.
