Title: Hair transplant consultation, should I go through with it ?
Post by: Periodicaly Dramatic on April 18, 2016, 02:18:08 PM
Hi is it advisable to get transplants on my crown,if I'm considering ffs within the next few years?.just read Douglas ousterthauts book and he doesn't recommend it. Read somewhere else that a gap of a year is recommended. I stress I've only major balding on the crown. Is it advisable to follow through with my consultation?. Thoughts appreciated, k ☺

I'm pre-everything, and last month went out to Istanbul for transplants on my crown. I have a little thinning at the front, but I'm hoping HRT might help with this. I'm no expert on these matters, but I reckon if I choose to have FFS down the road, the transplants I have now should be well attached by then!

If the FFS includes forehead lowering then the area where the scalp is removed would waste transplants there.

The hair transplant doctor told me I will need to wait 6 months after FFS. The skin is stretched and the scalp needs time to recover.

Ask both the FFS and transplant docs.

I did hair transplants in the corners of my hairline in 2014 and I plan on doing FFS later this year.  So far docs are saying I won't need a scalp advance now because of it.

But every situation is different.
