Title: Inner labia
Post by: JustOneQuestion on April 19, 2016, 12:04:00 PM
I am one to worry way too much, so here I come again with another concern.

SRS been two months away now. Healing gone pretty perfect and only recently there are a few annoying spots which feel a little irritated, but nothing too bad.

Where I heard before your inner labia can die off with the penile inversion technique (had it in the Netherlands, if any is curious), I had none of those problems. Just two very thick inner lips.

Now that the swelling gotten less I have been starting to look around. I noticed my inner lips are .. not what I expected? I thought just like a 'regular' vagina they come from the clitoral hood to all the way to the bottom, under the vulva. As for me they end above the vulva. As they are still swollen it looks as if two tiny lips are hanging above the vulva.

Ehm.. not sure what to ask other than; is this abnormal? Or will my vagina eventually look realistic just about like most other neo-vaginas >_<?

The first link leads to a pic.

In a one stage GRS surgeons often create inner labia which extend to the vagina but not around it.
The tissue would not withstand the pressure of dilation.
There might be a revision possible if desired.
Otherwise its within natural variation. There is a huge variance within vaginas, you could look up wall of vaginas.

Well someone showed their vagina to cis girls and they said it looked better than theirs. :)

Most surgeons issue a three-months 'do not touch' advisory to allow full healing.

Patients usually need to schedule follow-up appointments with their gynecologist for regular examinations.  Usual first post-op exams will be at six months, 12 months, then whatever your Gyn schedules thereafter.

These routine exams will determine how well and 'normal' you are developing post-op.

Most reputable surgeons will provide free / reduced cost corrective surgery during your early post-op period.

Keep a journal and take pictures of your progress and report your concerns to your surgeon.

And, yes, there are many variations of 'normal' anatomy.

That's exactly what mine look like. I've head we can get a revision to make it closer to the way GG's look, but I don't want anyone slicing at mine again, so I'm sticking with it.
