Title: Blood Test Results after 1 month HRT - good or bad?
Post by: JessicaSondelli on April 20, 2016, 08:09:14 AM
So I just got my blood test results that my endo ordered me to do because he was concerned about my Prolactin level (31 prior to HRT). He expected them to go higher but as a matter of fact, they dropped to 9.1 which I think is really good, right?

My T total went down from 806 (pre-HRT) to 164 ng/dL which I think is pretty good after only a month. Estradiol went up from 51 (pre-HRT) to 65 pg/mL which doesn't sound that impressive given I'm on a transition dose.

Those who are on HRT for a longer time, is this about what is to be expected?

I know I'm expecting too much too soon but I'm probably (no: most likely) just a very impatient girl...lol

Thank you all
-Jessie

It sounds like you're on track.  After 60 days on HRT my T went from 826 to 158 ng/dl and my E from 43.4 to 71.3 pg/ml.  It continued changing after that although at 9 months I doubled my spiro due to T leveling off at 120.  At 14 months it dropped to 19 ng/dl.  With the same E dose my E is now at 152 pg/ml after 14 months.

If you feel awesome and feminization is progressing as expected, then be happy. :) Your E levels seem low but there is more than just E levels for several reasons. So, if the outside is changing and well-being is not compromised, then alright! :)

That is true.  My pre-HRT hormone levels were 374 ng/dL for testosterone and 27 pg/mL for estradiol. After four months of a conservative HRT regimen, my estradiol was only 35 pg/mL, but my testosterone was down an order of magnitude to 36 ng/dL.  My estrogen dose has been roughly  doubled in the last four months, and now my E2 level is 70 pg/mL and my testosterone is about the same at 30 ng/dL.

I have breast growth, much smoother skin, and less body hair. And I got fatter, lol.  So, considering my age (I am 58) I am probably seeing the clinical results I should.

If you mean abdominal fat, that is not a good sign and either it's due to eating habits or not enough estrogen which keeps fat away from waist area. If you mean fatter in and around thighs, butt, face, breasts, then that's to be expected.

Interesting. My face is rounder, and I have breast growth, but I also have more fat around my midsection.  No increase in fact around my thighs or buttocks. My eating habits really haven't changed over the last few months.  I try to avoid carbs whenever possible due to high blood sugar.  It is something to watch, I agree.

There is a bit of nipple tenderness and slight breast growth but as we all know, there is never too much... but as a matter of fact, my endo just called this afternoon informing me that he is increasing my E dosage... I did not complain.. :)

Estrogen promotes fat accumulation in thighs and butt while keeping fat accumulation to a minimum around waist area.
