My spouse started calling me Stephie this weekend. I Changed my name back in November and she said she would never use it at the time. I asked her tonight why the change she said she did it to make me happy, but then went on to say when she looks at me she no longer sees her husband, and that while she will never understand it or accept it fully she says she understands it is just the way things are. My spouse has had to deal with mine as well as two of our children's gender issues and it has been very hard for her to come to terms with and very trying for her emotionally. So while I like that she is using my name now I know I have caused her so much anguish and I feel awful about it.
Hopefully her usage of you name is a sign of acceptance rather than a sacrifice.
Can only live in hope.
Congratulations to you, Stevie! That's fantastic news that your spouse has at least given you credit for who you are and the strides you've made. :eusa_clap:
With regards to yours an your children's gender issues, I would recommend the movie "Ma Vie en Rose." It's a French movie with English subtitles about a boy who is transsexual. It truly is one of my most treasured movies ever. If you've never seen it, it's a great educational tool for transgender folks and non-transgender folks alike.
I highly recommend it. It can be found on Amazon Prime.
Warmest wishes,
Princess
Congratulations, perhaps she is starting to accept which will reduce her anguish.
