How long from GCS until one is able to orgasm again? Does it depend on the surgeon?
It depends on the individual. I had mine around 4-5 months.

What about for Dr. Bower? Is hers longer?
Some people had an o after three weeks in their sleep ...
with Suporn sexual thoughts should be avoided the first time, its in his leaflet :)
on average it may take a few months
with Bowers and most north american surgeons its possible healing is faster ...

I'm almost 2 years out and still waiting for mine.
I was a few months

Have you tried a magic wand ? No others ... some are like toys in comparison ...
Don't overexert yourself, they are powerful ....
Covering the head with a condom might be a good idea... the head material is not safe silicone ...
And there is a spot inside, the prostate is still present making for a g/pspot.
It is hooked up via a different nerve than the clit.
Usually its necessary to be aroused for it to be felt and be pleasurable.
There are bent dildos and vibrators available for stimulation, taking some time in finding the spot might be a good idea.

I've tried both these ideas. Neither seems to have helped. My doctor thinks the problem might be low T. Unfortunately my insurance company won't pay for it and it costs US$600.

Well there may be docs willing to flag it as hormonal imbalance so its covered ...
there are testosterone patches and gels which might be less pricey.
After all its small doses to raise testo to less than 70 ng/dl .
Have you considered looking for a second opinion or other sources ?
A low cost supplement could be zinc, it may help rise testosterone, there are studies.
Don't overdo it and stay within healthy boundaries.
Supplements should be available and it should be written what doses are recommended.
If in doubt ask your doctor.

My doc wrote a supporting letter. The insurance company responded saying that they don't cover T for females unless they are transitioning FtM.

If you know any of these, can you post or PM the name? My doc indicated willingness to prescribe some different version.

You might argue that is medically necessary because testo is also present in females and necessary for a healthy setup.
Since you had SRS a natural mix of hormones is required for your well being.

Gel
Androgel
Testim
1% gels made by compounding pharmacies
patch
Androderm
You can look up testosterone on drug.com. Further names given, generics may be available:
Aveed, Axiron, Fortesta, Natesto, Striant, Testro AQ, Vogelxo
It may be a good idea to ask compounding pharmacies for 1% testo gel.
Its ready made and has no brand name premium.
It may also be possible to look for pricing online.

I had my done at PAI by Dr Sutin.. had my first orgasmn 3 months post surgery. Could have been sooner but was reluctant to be agressive with my clitoris.
I talked to another post op who was a lot wilder than me and she suggested I watch a porn and use a magic wand. Worked really well..

They are powerful. Some poeple use a soft cloth in between.
Someone said its the closest to throwing a switch and having an orgasm.
It may be possible to use it a bit further down the line ... and try first manual methods ...
since people heal differently its hard to say when to start. Many surgeons say a few months at the eariest ...

To be honest I am not sure but it was within 2-3 months after surgery. There was sensations there about one month after surgery but not enough for a full-blown O. Mine was done by Marci Bowers.
I had an orgasm in my sleep at 3 weeks post-op. I didn't figure out how to work the equipment while awake for several months, though. :)
...I'm so close...I can feel it.
