And apparently UNC is now saying, "What HB2?  We're going to act 'in compliance with federal law' here."

I have to respect them for it, but I'm curious how that will turn out since education funding is a major lever.

Highway funding and public safety funding too. States are very poor defenders of civil rights, i am glad we have a strong federal government and have since the 19th century.

UNC and NC businesses need to continue to put pressure on the state politicians to do what is right and stop this nonsense.

Definitely other levers available, but I have to wonder if their approach will get UNC continued funding...or if the governor will steal any of what they did get so he could fund other projects.

George Wallace is remembered as one of history's great villains for being the governor who "stood in the schoolhouse door" trying to block racial integration of public schools in the South.  Fifty years later, Pat McCrory follows Wallace by "standing in the bathroom door" to persecute TG people.  Pathetic.

Karl Marx once wrote that every major figure in a way appears twice in history, "the first time as tragedy, and the second time as farce." The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte, 1852.
