Title: Too old?
Post by: Mspacefaerie on May 10, 2016, 02:37:07 PM
So I'm 27 and I've known I am trans for almost 6 months now. I keep having anxiety about hrt and feeling like I missed the boat on being able to get significant change. I'm afraid that at this point hrt won't make any noticeable difference.

I started shortly before turning 60 and am quite pleased with the results.

You're in no way too old.

Are you dead? Then no, its not too late.

Too old?  No such thing.  I'm in my early 60s and should be starting HRT shortly.   There was a recent news article about someone who transitioned in their 70s, and just had GCS.

Even if it doesn't make a physical difference (but it will!), the right clothing and accessories can work wonders.

Your not even close to to old, actually, I don't think you can be to old.
I started at 59. I'm 60 now and went full time a few months ago. I'm pretty happy with the results from HRT.
And yes, I do wish I'd started at 27, but times were very different then and I didn't have the courage back then.

HRT has a positive influence on your emotional state, along with the physical changes.  If you're still breathing its not too late to transition.

I started HRT at 40 and have had amazing results so far. I also know someone that transitioned in their 70s too. There's no such thing as too old. The only thing that matters is that you're ready.

You are not too old. There are plenty of people in their 50's, 60's and 70's that are transitioning.

I transitioned at 50 - I'm 53 now so I've been on a transitioning dose of HRT for almost 3 years. HRT is *still* doing it's magic. As an example - last weekend I had to go buy some bigger bras.

Wow - I wish I started at 27!

I didn't start until 40 and still managed to get to a C cup. You're be fine!

Welcome to Susan's Place Mspacefaerie. I started hormones about age 26 and the avatar picture was take around age 35. Yes, it would have been nice to start earlier but you are still relatively young and can see very good results from HRT. HRT has greatly improved from when I transitioned and I am amazed by some of the transformations made by the members of this site. In many cases hormones alone have greatly altered the appearance of many girls your age or older. Don't regret the past but instead look forward to the future.

I also believe that it is never too old! Being in my early 60's, I have been on HRT for near a year and a half. I have seen many changes to both my emotional and physical state. Any time you can do something to be the person you always knew you were is good. The best time is when you are ready! You can then enjoy your journey. All the Best on the road you travel!

<--  Started at 33.  Wouldn't trade those 30 years for anything because of the wonderful family I have now.  But yeah, wish I could've started sooner.  I've been quite happy with the results so far.  The physical changes are important, sure, but if it's right for you then the way it makes you feel will likely be even more important.

I started at your age. I didn't notice a lot of changes in my body shape. My breasts did grow after I had surgery. But I still have narrow hips. This may be a genetic trait in my family. My sister also has narrow hips. I did notice some changes in my face even before HRT. It must have been sheer will. But everyone's experience is different. You'll never know if you don't try. But please know I am not trying to encourage you.

Honey, I'm 32 and sitting at 3.5 months in, I turn 33 in two weeks. You'll be fine. It's not a race.

There's a sub-->-bleeped-<- called TransTimelines that shows women of all ages and their transitions.  Even in the thirties/forties + I am amazed and encouraged, since I'm 45.  I think you'll be fine.

You are not too old. I started HRT at 45 and am quite pleased with the results. I now have to deal with issues that cis women have put up with their whole lives; like breasts inhibiting my reach and making sure my nipples don't show through my top. [emoji5]
