Title: Androcur and liver problems
Post by: Lebedinaja on May 17, 2016, 10:11:42 AM
since I am taking androcur, I usually got a strange feeling around my stomach area. Nothing hurts but it feels like a little pressure, nothing more usually. Since my doc is away for some weeks and I can't find any good info on the internet, do you guys know something about this? Is it normal? somthing to be worried about?
My blood stats were alright before I started with androcur.

Always seek proper medical advice rather than relying on the internet - you don't know whether your advisor here is qualified or not. As it happens I'm not, and therefore you should take what I say with caution, I am however studying medicine and hence will try to give you at least an idea...

Yes androcur can be hepatoxic, but if your blood results are ok its unlikely to be that. It can also upset the stomach which is why the instructions in the pack (which no one ever bothers to read) clearly state that it should be taken after food. I would imagine that you symptoms are more likely to be gastric in nature, but for all the reasons stated in my first para I would urge you to confirm this with a proper doctor and not rely random internet users - some of whom will tell you good info and some of whom are undoubtedly even more bat->-bleeped-<- insane and ill informed than I am! :P

In higher doses. That must also be stated.
