Those of you who knew Joi may be unaware that she passed away this last week. I've known Joi for a few years now, starting with an acquaintance at here Susans Place forums. She and I chatted a lot, and apparently my choice of Dr. Chettawut influenced her decision to go there as well. She completed her GCS earlier this year and was so happy to feel complete and at ease with herself finally. I miss her and will miss her going forward and I give my condolences to her family on their loss. My understanding is she passed away due to internal bleeding from an accident of some sort. I don't have more info than that at the current time. I know that she was life flighted to the hospital then pronounced dead later that same evening earlier this week.
I am awed at the outpouring of love and support for her that I've seen on her Facebook page, and from her family. She was fortunate to have that love and support that many of us are denied. She and I sat together last autumn during our local TDOR services at University of Houston chapel. We chatted a long time before the services began. She was a literal joy to spend time with.
Joi, wherever you are, my blessings and love go with you. May you rest in peace.
Rest in Peace
My condolences go out to Joi. I hope she can rest in peace as her true self, wherever death has seemed to depart her to the greater beyond.
It is hard to see a precious life go, and I just hope and pray that it wasn't due to anything with malice against her.
But with death grants life somewhere, and the whole life cycle repeats itself. Not trying to overshadow her passing, but to just hope that her family is doing well in light of this.

Very sad news, thank you for letting us know LizMarie. While it is so sad it happened within only a few months of GRS at least she was able to live as herself for those remaining months.
That is sad; we will miss you Joi, God bless you and your family ❤️

RIP
Love, Sarina!
My thoughts and prayers are with Joi's friends and family. I did not know her at all. I read some of her posts as they popped up and felt she was a loving supportive person worthy of our admiration.
LizMarie, thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. Devlyn suggested and FTMax is assisting to add her to our Remembering Our Dead section. For those who may not know where that is(ashamed as I am to admit, I did not-thanks for setting me straight Devlyn), it is among our wiki pages:

Thanks to all. I think it is important to keep people in our hearts and minds.
Humbly,
Joanna
Joi was local to me, living not far away. Her family is doing a memorial pot luck service this coming Sunday for her in Pearland if you happen to be a Houstonian. If you need info, PM me and I can get it to you. I think some of her family want to meet more of Joi's trans friends as well.
May she RIP. :(
