Title: Arm hair?
Post by: Midnightstar on May 29, 2016, 07:52:10 AM
If you shave your forearm hair does it grow back thicker/longer?
I've been wanting to get more arm hair and i know that can happen on T or something but i sort of want it now and i was thinking well, can harm anything if i did? and heck if i can do it now why not try? accept then i started wondering
is that just weird? and if i did would it possibly make it worse when on T? idk its a lot of strange questions but eh, why not ask?  ;D

It's a myth that shaving makes hair grow back differently. It just looks that way because you've blunted the end of the hair. I shaved my arms once in my teen years, and there wasn't any noticeable change to how it grew back.

You can always try and see if it does anything for you. But being hairless even temporarily would be dysphoria inducing for me. You could try taking biotin. It increases hair growth.

I tried it once, it did nothing. q:
If anything it just annoyed me, because though I have a lot of body hair (I think- I'm pre T too and I have more arm/leg hair than some cis guys in my year at school) it takes ages to grow back when I do get rid of it and then I feel worse than I already do for ages. But yeah, asking questions is good, I wish I had the courage to ask more- I just lurk on the forums and browse threads to see if mine have been asked already xD

Takes time i used to be (still sometimes am) really scared of posting actually but eventually i got used to it and became more comfortable&confident with it. Maybe you will in time?
Also nice to know yea i probably won't end up doing that between what you and max said it sounds like it won't work out. But i can deal :)

I recommend NO - Don't do it.  It's not pleasant.  I have done it twice, Never again!
