Im pretty set on going to PAI in thailand. It seens january and february are the most exoensive months for flights and after it get much cheaper. Hás anyone went in march or later for srs? Hows the climate? Any general tips?
Im so excited about this but I dont have anyone to talk about it.
I don't remember if there is any decent difference in price. I went in June and it was like Florida (which is where I live).
The worse part is the TIME of the flight. You can write off an entire day........

Yea the time and the timezone changes suck... though you do kind of win a few hours on the way back I think :D

Hi Bird,
I live in Thailand and March and April are horribly hot in Bangkok. You may know that it's the hottest city in the world and those two are the hottest months? It's pretty grim during those two months, or at least it was this year with temps regularly at 38C-39C and high humidity but no rain. The 'feel like' temp was over 50C most days. A lot of this year's excessive temps were caused by the record El Nino, which has now finished so next year may be different.
Having said that, would I let that stop me? Probably not. You just have to use air-conditioning. If you are into water fights (not my thing) then the Songkran festival is in April and marks the start of the Thai new year. Away from the crowds there are some fun ceremonies in the Buddhist monasteries. But the roads are dangerous during Songkran as people tend to drink a lot.
Once the rains return in May it does cool down a bit to around 35C in Bangkok.
I hope that helps a little
Aside from climate, I'm super excited for you. I have a consult at PAI in two weeks from now :)

I bet it won't be comfortable :/ anyway, flights are much cheaper, january being the most expesive month. Maybe I can leave in february, not so expensive but notso hot either :)
February is a lovely month: as you say it's not so hot and it's a bit quieter. I was out here this year in Feb and it was lovely.
Good luck :)
