Title: Came out as MTF Transgender to my family
Post by: Moyshe313 on May 31, 2016, 06:18:04 PM
In the past 3 days I've came out as Trans to my sister, mom and 3 kids (10,9,4). Everyone has been so supportive. All my male friends have been awesome about this. I was totally freaked out how my mom would take it, but she is happy to lose a son and gain a daughter. Now to wait for my Endo appointment which is 2 months away.
My heart goes out to anyone that does not have the support system that I have. I don't think i have the strength to do this without the support.

Hi, I can relate. I came out to my wife, 2 grown daughters, and my family back in January. As a result, my wife and daughters are still getting used to this, but I lost contact with parents and family. I am grateful to have some support at least.

That's really great!!  I just came out to my wife and best friend.  Thank God they are very accepting.  On the other hand, my mother would never accept it, and would maybe never even acknowledge it.  I'm SO glad your whole family is on your side.  Congrats!

This makes me happy to hear that some families are just naturally accepting! Best wishes!

We're you pretty sure that your mom would be supportive or were you pretty worried about it.. I have only come out to my wife she loves the idea but as m scared to death to come out to my parents.. I'm pretty sure they would try and talk me out of it and tell me I need to suck it up and do what's best for my family but I don't think they would disown me or anything but they are pretty conservative and Christian but not Bible thumpers or anything

I was worried about my mom because she is on the conservative side. After a few weeks of her processing and understanding, she fully supports what I need to do to be happy in life.
