I have an appointment to start laser on my face. What I'm wondering is 2 days later I have a party I have to go to. Will my face be messed up or red from it? should I reschedule? :(. Always something coming up...
The first session is usually mild while they figure out your tolerance for the laser's intensity so two days should be enough. If you're concerned just raise the point with your doctor. Besides, the hairs need time to "die off" (you'll notice them change color and wipe off with a face cloth after a few days.) Your doctor will also give you some ointment for the burn.
My skin was red for a few hours. I would not worry about how you look two days later. Your beard shadow will not change much after the first laser session
I was a bit red for the first few hours after but by the next day I was fine..I found Aloe Vera gel was very soothing. I keep it in the fridge for use after Laser and Electrolysis. The level of frustration caused by being unable to shave for days on end is almost the hardest part....but each session gets me closer to my goal and in another 12 months I hope to be on the down hill run with the last of the electrolysis. Good luck with the laser...its not IPL is it? Hope you have a good session I found it a bit like being snapped by a rubber band and with the electrologist it feels more like being stung by a bee...but each little sting is one more dead follicle that I don't have to worry about.

On my very first appointment for laser hair removal, my skin was very splotchy for a week or so. I just used basic concealer to cover it up, so that's a little trick you could use.
On my second appointment, I was red for maybe a few hours at best?
Hope you come out looking like a million dollars! ;D
after a couple hours and you should be fine. don't skimp on sun block and wear a hat.

I cannot stress this enough. You will ruin your skin otherwise.
