I've been injections for several years and during the past 2 years switches to subcutaneous. I've never had any complications, now and then a lump that will go away within a few days. However, yesterday I injected and today there was a lump but it is very painful and I've also got the chills and feeling light headed. Quick recap on my injection, I injected twice because during the first try I pushed the syringe but nothing was happening, it's like it was blocked. I withdrew and replaced the needle and the second attempt went fine. Now I have a lump that is pink and hot to the touch. Previously I've had lumps with bruising and some discomfort, but not like this one now.
I was googling and read about sepsis, but I'm not sure if this is possible with T shots? I don't want to be over dramatic and I also might think I may be getting the flu or cold since it is similar symptoms but it's just odd that this happened a day after my shot. Just wondering what complications could happen or if I should look out for a symptom in particular. Thanks for the help in advance!
If in doubt, see a doctor as soon as possible. There are several possible infections and one can become deadly within a few hours.
I had the pink/hot to touch combo once and asked on here about it. There may be a thread somewhere on the Testosterone board for it.
I just ended up using an ice pack on it whenever I was sitting down and massaging the whole leg whenever I got a chance. It still hung around for a few days and was generally very sore, but it did go away with no other ill effects. Like Dena said, if in doubt, go see a doctor.
thanks, I went to the ER last night just in case. Despite getting the chills, a slightly higher temp for a while, naseau and a huge headache, the doc looked at the inject site which had a lump and was pinkish and warm to the touch and just gave me some antibiotics. He said it would be uncomfortable for a few days which is normal. Today I noticed the pinkish area has expanded more, my symptoms are still the same though and no fever so I'm guessing this is ok.
