Does anyone know how to donate your body to science? I think my heart and my head would be most useful but UW only takes general donations for teaching surgeons.
If I can spare anyone of the self loathing, doubt, and just that dirty feeling, it will be worth it. I've spent almost 50 years with those types of feelings and thanks to the feedback I've received from the thoughtful people at Susans Place I am beginning to view my life in a different light. I've started to embrace my differences. My thoughts are not so heavy now. Now I've learned about DES and the possibility that my mother may have been given these hormones while I was in utero. Of the ten symptoms I have five, not the least of which is heart disease, stroke, valve deformation.The problem with research stems from politicians that will not fund further research. If you are from a red state. harrass your congressman or woman, to get with the 21st Century and to continue this study even tough it blows away your religious interpretations. This information only helps to motivate me to use my life/death to help others so they do not have to spend 50 years wondering.
Conceptually, if you donate your body to science, then science gets to decide what to do with it. I used to have "donor" on my drivers license. I don't have that any longer. I figure they won't want it. I also want to make sure my corpse is destroyed so my family can't do their funeral thing. They didn't want me while alive. I'll be damned before they get me when I'm dead ;)

I've checked UW one of the leading medical research facilities in the country and they use corpses to practice surgery. I'm thinking I have to direct my body parts as I am a trove of medical anomalies That very well could be used for research
