Title: Jawline Reduction and Cheekbone reduction in Thailand
Post by: chinee on June 12, 2016, 12:53:13 PM
Hello Ladies,

Has anyone here went to Thailand for their FFS or specifically jawline / cheekbone reduction surgery? I know the best option is South Korea with regards to this but I still want to know if Thailand is also good at this? I am eyeing Yanhee Hospital but unfortunately their website has not enough samples to look.

so far, there are two doctors in thailand that most say very experienced in mandible and cheekbone reduction.

Dr. Charan
Dr. Pat

Has anyone here did their FFS to one of these thai doctors?

It's alright... I did a thorough research about those two thai doctors I mentioned but its still not enough. I hope we get a response soon from our fellow sisters who went to them before

I personally didnt consider facial surgery in Thailand, so I dont have my own experience to share. But if you look specifically at cheekbone reduction and jaw reduction, Korea (again) is the world leader in these two aspects of facial surgery.

I don't really understand why one surgeon should be better than another, unless he's drunk or operating without a license. This idea of pop star surgeons is somewhat worrying... I mean, any maxillofacial (OMF) surgeon can do a jawline, even a dentist (DMD) could possibly do it without breaking a sweat. Any OMF surgeon with a license has about 10+ years of study before they go on wasting all their talents in pulling wisdom teeth. These folks are all excellent surgeons, besides there are bad apples everywhere.

I'm curious as to what has led you to believe that Korea is the "best" on facial work. Good surgeons / bad surgeons everywhere. For sure. Granted they do a lot of this work in Korea and on Koreans. That two tiered pricing system in Korea for locals vs. non-Koreans certainly sends a lot of this work to Thailand. Thus not much experience on the Caucasian facial structure.

well I've heard because in South Korea, they are now using the modern technology in cutting the bones unlike in Thailand where they still use the traditional one (saw cutting) but I haven't read much details about it

Does anyone here went to Dr. Charan Mahatumarat for Zygoma / Browbone reduction? Based on my research, he is a maxillofacial surgeon but I haven't read much feedback about him

I never said they are the "best" on all facial work. Chinee is asking specifically for Jawline reduction and Cheekbone reduction.
You can type "cheekbone reduction" or "zygoma reduction" into google image and scroll down. It explains everything.

I don't really understand why one surgeon should be better than another

Experience? Broader skill set range? Various specialties? Should any of this matter in surgery as specific as FFS which involves cranial bone reconstruction, aspects of orthognatic and maxillofacial surgery, often very complex rhinoplasty, wide set of plastic surgery for soft tissue issues related to excess after underlying bone structure reduction, often rejuvenation procedures as many patients who can afford FFS happen to be in their 40s, 50s and 60s... and even such specifics like tracheal cartilage reduction, which is ENT surgeon stuff, and even ENT surgeons usually dont have much experience with that, while most of these FFS pop star surgeons just happen to have done that on hundreds and some on thousands of patients. Im not saying that any of this should matter to you.

Hi Chinee,

There are some world renowned places in Thailand. PAI is particularly famous for it: http://pai.co.th

Try and contact Warlockmaker as she has had FFS there and her results are absolutely stunning. So much so that they're my no 1 choice for my FFS.

x

p.s. check out here: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,211296.0.html
If you speak to Warlockmaker nicely she may send you a before and after pic. She's absolutely stunning!

Jawline reducxtion is something a lot of surgeons can do, but I think it pays to have experience with this, in respect to risks involved. Risks are: nerve damage and reducing the bone too much so that it will break too easily for example if someone slaps you in the face for some reason (not that uncommon for trans people, sadly).

What I do not really get is why anyone wants a cheekbone reduction. Cheekbones are not really that much of a gender marker and actually pronounced and high cheekbones are usually considered a beauty marker. Some FFS patients get cheek implants to make the cheeks bigger... but why a reduction?

This is about lateral cheekbone reduction. Its common cosmetic procedure in some Asian countries, as many people have very wide cheekbones (consequently wide mid-face), which is considered unaesthetic feature.

High and projected cheekbones are considered feminine feature, but this is about frontal projection, not lateral. When FFS surgeons do cheek augmentation with malar cheek implant, they usually use small frontal-only implants. The exception are cases where patient lacks lateral cheekbone projection, in comparison to wide jaw and wide forehead, so full-profile cheek implants work for them, for improving both lateral and frontal projection.

Hmm - I am not sure why a wide cheekbone would be unattractive, but maybe it is considered to be so in asia because they want often to look like Europeans. I saw this in Seoul, all the ads had more european looking people in it ans no korean looking people.
It is not a gender feature though and I think at least "westerners" rarely would need this procedure anyways.

I just know that with FFS assessment I was told that my cheekbones are very great and they do have some projection and are defined - I do not mind them at all. But I guess thats different projection then.

Its Asian thing. Maybe its more appropriate to say its mostly Korean thing. Its not about gender specific feature, its about their aesthetic ideals. And they have genetically a lot higher occurence of wide cheekbones than europeans...

I think for $$$ reasons I'll be having mine in two stages and for the reasons above I won't make cheekbones a first priority. So I guess I'd start with rhinoplasty and jaw reduction, maybe an eye lift if I can afford it.

I suppose the problem is that if you have jaw reduction but leave the cheekbone you could end up with an excessively tear-drop face shape?

Hi Riya, once again it's probably worth asking the beautiful Warlockmaker but I'm very impressed by PAI where she also had work done: http://pai.co.th/category/aesthetic-plastic-surgery/

They always have a steady stream of western CIS girls: I was chauffeured back from the hospital yesterday with one of their Ukrainian clients whom I also saw just now at breakfast. She seemed very happy with the work.

All I can say really is that I think PAI are absolutely brilliant and have no hesitation recommending them. Good luck with whomever you choose x.

Markie, welcome.

There are probably several hundred threads on here in which Dr Chettawut is discussed. He is used by a lot of girls on here for SRS.

His FFS work is something you should certainly research. Not everyone, it seems, would share your enthusiasm https://www.facebook.com/dr.chettawut.warning/

Research carefully indeed. Very best of luck with whomever you settle on. x

anybody here would recommend dr nond or dr charan? I think they are the two best for facial bone reduction. But I have problems with both of them.

Dr. Nond:
He seems hard to get doctor. I tried emailing him many times even with his assistant follow up but no response from him

Dr. Charan:
He always reply to all of your questions but he does not have a
website. He said if you want his before and after photos of his patient, you have to visit his clinic personally
