My dear friends,
I have had the honour of working with you through good and bad times and so many of you have reached out too me and I hope I have reached out too you when you needed me.
Now I face a bit of a battle and I wanted to tell you all before rumours occur or questions are asked.
I have not been posting as much recently as I have been dealing with a health issue. My awesome staff know and as ever they have been a tower of strength to me in some very dark recent times.
I have hypo-laryngeal cancer, a throat cancer, I have had so many scans and investigations that it is becoming clear what I face and I do so with great strength and determination.
I do not give in and I shall not.
I am facing some interesting experiences in therapy.
I have asked Susan if I can stay on as Admin during my war against this cancer and she has agreed. (She really is a softy and a very dear friend and my sister :-*)
However I may not always be as attentive as usual, and sometimes times I may be sad.
Please forgive me if I get cranky.
My love to all of you.
Cindy
I'm so sorry, Cindy. Please fight this and get better quickly.
:icon_cry:
Stay strong, Cindy. We've got your back.
Lots of love and hugs, hon. Please get well soon.
Well, a nasty fight this one, I'll be with you friend. And if you post less it's ok, we'll think of you more.
Best of luck, cheers, Rose.
Tough fight in front of you Cindy, look after yourself, we will definitely understand when you post less or are feeling cranky. Thoughts and prayers for you.

Cindy, Since I started in this board I have admired and respected your opinion and I have supported you if not verbally at least with my thoughts.
Now in you moment in need I find myself limited in the power of what I can do as we are too far away, but all I can offer you is my prayers for your prompt and full recovery.
I am not sure if you are religious or not, sometimes I wonder myself but in moments of limited ability for action it is the last recourse.
There is still drinks or dinner offer if you ever come to Miami to share, and nothing would make me happy to see you around sunning in South Beach next to me.

Cindy - I have no doubt that your tough as nails attitude will get you through this. Please concern yourself with getting well and not so much about us.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Cindy, positive thoughts and prayers from Debra and I. If you are feeling cranky and need to vent, we are here for you. If you are feeling sad and need an ear, we are here for you. Whatever you need, we are here for you, always.
Hi Cindy,
Even though we are Trans-Tasman rivals (just realized the irony of our standard saying) and battle each other on sports fields and alike. We are also the best of brothers in arms. My ANZAC spirit is with you.
Sue ❤️❤️
My positive thoughts and prayers for you to have a successful fight and fast recovery from it.
Hugs - Robyn
Cindy, I wish you all the strength that you need during your fight. We will send you all the positive energy we can.

Hang in there and stay strong, Cindy!
Stay strong & kick cancer's ass! Thoughts & prayers with you
I'm so sorry to hear, Cindy. I hope that you have a successful and speedy recovery.
It's scary facing things like this. But what can we do other than fight it? A wise woman* once said:
"When life kicks you, kick it back."
Sound advice.
Hugs, Devlyn
*Me. I'm the wise woman!
We're all here for you.
It's not how many times we get knocked down, it's how many times we get up.
We are here.
Big HUGS!
Jen
Sending positive thoughts! Emily stated my thoughts! Fight on!

In 1993 I was told I had only five years to live because of my heart problems 24 years later I am investigating HRT. Just remember there are people who love you. Hold on to that knowledge as incentive to beat the odds. Good luck, I would say God Bless but I have found Good Luck works just as well.
Love back to you sweetie.
I'm sorry, Cindy.
As you adjust to this major life change, don't feel guilty about your emotional responses. Doing so will just exacerbate your emotional pain and isolate you, when all you really can do to ameliorate your situation, is to take care of your emotional well-being.
Was your cancer diagnosed early?
I truly wish you the best in regards to overcoming this and hope for a full recovery. You will be in my prayers.
Cindy,
I'm so sorry to read this.
In my short time as a member of Susan's you have been the most helpful of all. Your kind, informative posts and PMs have literally given me direction and a light at the end of what sometimes feels like an incredibly dark tunnel.
You are inspiring.
As we both live in the same city and frequent the same university (albeit for very different reasons) I have instantly felt connected to you, despite not having met you yet.
One thing I have gathered about you is that you are a strong and intelligent woman. My mother battled cancer and won. You will beat this too.
If there's anything I can do to help please don't hesitate to ask.
Sending love,
Elle <3
Cindy, always stay strong and willed to live.
Fight back and win this battle, you will be able to overcome this minor obstacle in life. I know you are a fighter and will remain vigilant in all of this.
I will of course send out help in meditation and prayer, and will remain support for all of what you may need.

Remember to smile your face
Hi Cindy;
I am so sorry to hear your news. I will keep you in my prayers.
Try to stay strong and I sure with your determination, you will recover, but remember above all else that you have a lot of love from all of us. More importantly as Eva Marie said concentrate on getting better, and don't worry about us girls.
I have been meaning to contact you as I caught up with Padma whilst I was back in the United Kingdom and we had a nice lunch together. I will PM you
Love
JudithLynn
Cindy, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. You will be in my thoughts. You are a very strong woman, and that strength will help you deal with this.
And... thanks for stickin' with us. We need you around here.
I thank you for all the kindness and help you have given me. I thank you for being the caring and giving person that you are, I thank you for being my role model and giving me the strength to give back to our community. You are special and a strong wonderful woman and you will move onward with your great strength and the
support and good wishes from all who love you.
Cindy,
Enjoy the tributes and accolades. You have earned them and they are, in writing, understated.
Your wisdom, experience and insight are an inspiration to be in awe of.

Thank you all. I met my specialists this morning and the offer for cure was to remove my larynx and pharynx and reconstruct my oesophagus with a muscle flap.
I have refused this and my specialist agreed.
I have accepted a radiochemotherapy option that will be quie brutal.
Three months is better than three days and a year is better than three months. So I am going for it. I have no idea how long I have but so what. Life is life.
I realise I am an unusual woman. I bought my self a bottle of Moët and had a nice champagne in celebration of moving forward.
Cheers!
Cindy
Cindy, you're an inspiration! For all of us, trans and cis, life dangles by a frayed thread. You've reminded us that the point is still to make it dance!
My thoughts and prayers ate with you hugs
I'm lost for words, but I'm thinking of you.
Cindy,
I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope treatment goes well, and wish you a speedy recovery. Stay strong!

Cindy,
I have a dear friend that is overcoming breast, liver and lung cancer. Her main winning aspect is her positive thoughts. I know you have the same strength. Stay strong, do your best and we will be here for you when you need us.
I look forward to your positive updates on how you are beating your hurdle.

Cindy,
It's hard to find words. Do take care of yourself. I hope all will go well.
Cindy as one of the people here that you personally made a huge difference to I just want to wish you all the best for this battle. If there is anything I can do to help in any way I will gladly do so.
Taking time to take care of yourself is important and easily forgotten...so don't forget to do it!!! ;)
Hugs
Liz
All the love and positive that Heather and I can muster headed your way, dear. Keep up your strength and know that you are loved! <3
