Hi I'm Nikki. I'm a 26 year old trans guy from Canada. I was unsure about joining this forum because I've had bad luck with forums, and another trans forum I checked out had barely any posts or updates. This website looks very welcoming and I see that people post frequently on here so I'll give it a go. I've been having a hard time managing my dysphoria and my depression is worsening. I don't have any transgender friends offline (I'm a stay-at-home parent and a house spouse and I've been on a waiting list for months to get respite for my kids, so I can't attend councelling and group sessions yet) and I was hoping to make some online buddies, or at least talk to people who are going through similar situations.
Hey Nikki, nice to meet you. I may not have the same experiences you have since I'm slightly younger but if you wanna talk I'm all ears. Sometimes all anyone needs is a way to get things out, and from my personal experience talking at a wall does not help.
Also, I noticed your screen name. If nothing else we can geek out over digimon. Seasons 3 and 5 are personal faves of mine and the Guilmon family is one I've always loved.

Yeah I've found that just coming on here to vent has helped a lot. I've only been on here for a few days and I feel so much better compared to just a few days ago. It's great to finally talk to people who have gone through similar experiences (I know every person is different). I didn't fully realize I was trans until last August. I had an idea when I was about to turn 15 in 2005 (I made a typo with my age in the first post. Still 25) but I got lied to by my family, society and the media, them making it seem you're only trans once you go through all the hormones and surgeries. I wish I knew I really was trans back then but the important thing is I know now. And I think it's awesome how there are other digimon fans on here. ^_^ Guilmon/(War)Growlmon's been my all-time favorite fictional character since I was in grade 6.
