Title: I got to experience one of the not so fun parts about being a lady tonight.
Post by: Tamika Olivia on June 22, 2016, 11:32:04 PM
Specifically, I got hit on by some creepy dude online. He was my opponent in a Pokémon Showdown match. At the start he used the site's messaging system to PM me, to ask of I was interested in role play. I was pretty sure what he meant, but I hoped he meant the RP Chat Channel in Showdown or the Pokémon move "Role Play". Nope, he clarified, he meant romantic role play. Ew.

I told him that if creeping out the opposition was his strategy, it was a success. I then forfeited our match and closed the site.

And it seems like dealing with the advances of creepy dudes, both online and offline,  is something I'll have to face for the rest of my life. I'm just processing this first, largely harmless, occurance. I'm also wishing I had stuck it out and crushed the little cretin in the match...

Ack.  Yeah, it's so sad that this is unsurprising.  In the last few months I've gotten a handful of creepers -- three on buses (one tried to touch my dress, another took a picture of me, and the third just stared and stared), two old guys have held doors open for me and took the opportunity to leer and say something demeaning, and one guy just stopped halfway up a flight of stairs, and literally turned as I walked past, so he could stare at me.  Seriously.  That's 6 dudes in 2 months.  And really, that's nothing.  I've heard from gals who get this crap multiple times a day.

As a result of repressing their emotions since childhood and a sexual appetite I can only conceptually understand, often ostensibly stoic males act surprisingly in private with a women. Deal with them however you'd like, but avoid being alone with them, unless you want to be.

Over time, you'll become adept at dealing with these types of situations. On a positive note, him having the honor of being your first creep, means your transition must be progressing.

Creeps are the worst part of a night out for me.
One of the reasons I don't go out to bars these days.

You're a slut for liking them, you're a slut for telling them to get lost and you're a slut for being female in their eyes.

Yah... I had my first real life experience with a friend that I've know for years. He kept doing.....very innapropriate things... Groping, flashing me pictures of his package, among other things. I warned him several times to stop and he wouldn't, so I reported him. Basically he got off with a warning... And now he's super ticked at me. -_- If he would've listened the first time or just not behaved like a wanker in the first place it never would've been an issue...

Yup, its happening to me too, about once a month, some guy will just look my way, and stare like a deer with the headlights on him. I've noticed I've changed my strategy with dealing with guys now. Now I don't make eye contact with them, like I used too before. I'm more focused in my destinations. I instinctively know now not too be around alpha guys alone with them, without some immediate escape route or barrier. Guys are processing what they sense are your feminine ways or presence, so they stay stumped on it, to process it. If your a looker, you'll get noticed daily or even hourly, IMHO and experience.

Well the good thing with creeps online is that you may never see them again. Especially in an online game like showdown, where its really more expansive than one would think. I would say it would be harder in more of an online community, or say an mmo think World of Warcraft (where to get rid of a creep would be to change servers or so.)
If off in the real world, and a creep tends to show their inner tendencies it would be a bit harder to deal with. I say this because if it may be at work, or at a park, or anywhere then they would eventually know where to look for you and thus harass you on more of a monthly/weekly/daily routine or so.
Though I have dealt with a few creeps myself at work, I was able to deal with it. To where the creep was never to set foot close by again. Also I suppose its a good thing I kept my tendency of walking quick and with a purpose, in which it looks like I would punch someone in the face if they got in my way.
There are ways that could help both online and in the real world to set our own barriers for these creeps, and keep them away.

If you need any assistance, let me know and I can help with what I know would help.
