I just wanted to let all of you know I'm back here after awhile of being away and starting T. I have an appointment with the endocrinologist July 11. My name has legally changed already.
Fantastic! You must be stoked.
I won't be enthusiastic until I see the physical changes. Until them I've got a little anxiety about the first visit and a tad skeptic of whether I'll get them the first time or not. I'll return to this thread to let anyone who cares know what has happened. Thanks for responding.
Congrats on the name change! I hope everything goes well for you when you see the endo.
We've already spoken about this, but congrats again! Very excited for you, and looking forward to your updates.
Awesome! Can't wait to hear your updates!

Good for you! Let us know how it goes.
I'm very disappointed because they called back and said the doctor they set the appointment with doesn't do T, and then rescheduled me for a doctor that did so I don't get to see a doctor until September :( .For some reason they thought they should refer me to neurology and that I didn't need an endo.
Sorry to hear that. I've been having lots of setbacks scheduling bottom surgery, so I'm right there with you. It is not fun at all. Hang in there.
Oh, good grief! I'm sorry to hear that. Even when they're not actively "gatekeeping," dealing withe medical systems can be such a pain. We're almost halfway through July, though, so September isn't that far away. Hold the thought. Congratulations.
Well, this is a lousy turn of events. I was checking in because your appointment date was only a few days ago. Now it's a couple of months away.
You might call in every few days and see if you can get in earlier when someone else cancels. I've done this a couple of times with other types of appointments, and I've gotten lucky.

Yes, this. As long as you're capable of getting to an appointment on short notice, I would call them on Monday and see if they have a cancellation list they could put you on. A lot of doctors do. It's first come, first serve and if someone cancels an appointment they just go down the list in order until someone can take that appointment. Definitely worth doing if you are able.
Thanks for everyone being so concerned.
I'm in the same boat, I'm finally taking my first steps to transitioning and I got an appointment with the endo for the 27th of August. I hope they don't pull the same ->-bleeped-<- they did on you, but I live in BC, Canada and the person doing the hormone readiness assessment referred me to them, so I'm hoping it all goes well.
With any luck we should be starting T at roughly the same time, it's kinda cool.

Tell me how yours goes too.
