Title: I'm sure this has probably been asked dozens of times, but height change? 0_0
Post by: Raye on July 04, 2016, 05:07:13 AM
Like the title suggests I know height doesn't change, but posture does along with other changes for MTF, which may cause height change. Has anyone experienced this I know unless your in your teens it won't really affect you as much, but I fail to understand these statistics I was like 5' 11" before I started HRT and my posture has never been terrible or shown to be non-corrective so I know that hasn't changed. The Pelvic Shifting (or rotation) did move a bit more for me than I know for a few I've talked to. It's all due to ligaments and connections as far as I know, but is this amount of change normal?

Well I know you that my SO has said that I look a lot shorter than I use to be. She chuckles about it lol. One thing that I do know is that my feet have shrunk. When I say that I don't mean a half size. I've shrunk 2 full shoe sizes. I never thought that would happen but yea.......

I know bones can't (as far as I know), but I've been told it could just be that hormones are causing 'Joint Compression'.

I lost about an inch (I was 5'8" and now I'm consistently measured at just under 5'7"), and I honestly do think it was due to posture - which can change even well after the teen years, since it's basically due to a shift in where you carry weight and/or your center of gravity.  I started at 32, at any rate, and I'm still happy with the results. :)

Oh god, I hope this isn't common. I'd be devastated to go from 5'10 to 5 whatever. 5'10 is the absolute benchmark for me, and about the only advantage being born 'male' gave me to take forward.

I could do with losing a shoe size, or a half - what I'm wearing is slightly too tight.

I have an exercise bike ready to go - if there is so much as a hint of a fat arse, I'm on it.

Height can and does change. First, gravity inexorably wins. I figure in another 167 years I'll reach my goal height of 5'5"  ;D  You just may be shorter then you think you were.

Aside from that there is musculature which changes. There is more then cartilage keeping your back together. Feet can shrink in more then 2 dimensions. Plus, as you said, posture does change. That can work either way. In fem mode I sure do have a lot better posture.

I hope they do shrink but I expect nothing. I'm an 8 UK, so just one size off anything but the highest fashion (and therefore expense). I can just about jam into the size down, but for comfort, not really. And I like tight pointed shoes, so my leeway is not a lot.

I went from 5' 11" to 5' 7.75" last I checked. I think weight had something to do with it since I did gain while I was noticing the difference, and the change was in my legs. I used to wear jeans with a 30" inseam. Now, pants I literally used to wear without any issues go up under my tits.. My new inseam is about 27" unfortunately.. My feet are a bit smaller too.

I really hope my feet shrink at least. I feel like I'm walking around in clown shoes all the time.

When I began wearing women's sneakers, I wore 11's. Now, years later, I wear 9's.

Oh dear God please let that happen to me.  I am currently a women's size 11 or 11.5 depending on manufacturer.  I would love, love, love to be smaller than size 10.
