Title: Vaping?
Post by: MichelleZelda on July 04, 2016, 06:18:19 AM
I was wondering, does anybody here know much about non-nicotine, non-cannabis vaporizing? My brother has one but I know he mostly uses them and doesn't care much about the technicalities.

Michelle:

I've been vaping for a bit over two years.  Though I use it for nicotine replacement.  Since I started vaping, I have not had a single cigarette and do not miss them a bit.

Being  the nerdy, geeky type I dove into all things about vaping, even using it to step down the  nicotine I use, which is about half of the nicotine I was getting from cigarettes.

I don't think I'm alone in this.  Though it only comes up rarely in a forum such as this.  So ask away, I'm sure your questions will get answered.

I have a friend who started vaping a few years ago.  He was looking for nicotine not derived from a cigarette and that seemed a great way to do it.  Over time, he started to experiment with other flavors, sans nicotine, and found he simply enjoyed vaping.  He has a couple, one with nic that he uses when he needs it...the other just for flavor.

One thing I will say, his throat and chest sound a lot clearer despite his using the vaporizer.  It is obviously less 'offensive' to his respiratory system.

The damage to your system from tobacco that causes lower blood oxygenation doesn't happen with vaping.   However, there is some evidence that it may not be entirely harmless.  For me though it's either vaping or tobacco and tobacco is a whole lot worse.

I (idiotically) started heavily smoking my jr year (despite running in track) and started vaping mid-May of last year to quit. It's actually helped me a lot and I now only use no-nicotine juices. For flavor now cause it tastes pretty good. I have two different ones. Ones a pretty big box I use when I know I'll be gone for periods of time, usually when I'm driving somewhere more than an hour away, and it lasts about two days straight of regular usage without charging. I love that one! The others my small "quickie" e-cig. Last about a couple hours of constant usage and can't hold half as much juice. But that one is used when I know I'll be gone for a couple hours and it will last me.

In fact, using these now has significantly decreased my need to smoke at all. Even those get used little. Only when I'm driving all over the place is when you'll see me using them often. Plus it leaves no real smoke smell at all, so if I'm driving in my granmas car and happen to use it, she won't know because it just leaves behind a slight fruity scent and even that goes away after a while.

The only downside is the 'we get it, you vape' jokes. Like all the time. So if you're going to start, be prepared.
