Title: Stopping estrogen before surgery. Is oestrogel considered safer?
Post by: Richenda on July 07, 2016, 06:37:24 AM
My orchiectomy is now just 3 weeks away which means in 1 week I have to come off estradiol valerate pills.

The question that follows is not a substitute for professional medical opinion but it made me wonder. A few people have said that the DVT risk only applies to oral route estrogen and that gel and patches are okay.

I'd be really interested in any thoughts at all on that?

I think the only reasonable answer is to ask your surgeon.
