Hey, I'm doing some research on how going on cross-sex hormones affects people's libido. I have heard that it generally (but not universally) causes FtM's libido to increase, and MtF's libido to decrease.
Most of this was anecdotal, so I would like some solid research on the subject. I found one study showing that FtM had higher sexual arousability, and MtF had lower sexual arousability, and another study concerning FtM which confirmed that they had a higher sex drive after transitioning, but I'd like as much as possible. Thank you.

You might be better off recruiting people who are about to transition and having them journal stuff. Transition is a really topsy turvy time and your perceptions are changing constantly. So relying on self report and recall is very problematic. The whole nature of sexual arousal changes on hormones as well, and transitioning people often have to relearn how to relate to their sexuality. Are you beginning to see how complicated this topic is?
Hi,
I am reluctant to open up to someone that is not trans.
This is a support site and research must be cleared by Susan prior to posting the request for information. I will report this thread to an admin for review. With that said there is a lot of information about sexual response on the site.
The topic was reviewed and allowed to stand.
