Hello all,
I am always super worried that when I wear a bikini that people will be able to tell that I tuck because there is still a bit of a bulge on the underside. I wore a bikini twice so far this summer, the first time I've worn a bikini in public(Go Me!!! :D ), and was terribly nervous but dealt with it anyways. Because of this worry, I started Googling women in bathing suits and actually found that some women look like they're tucking!! Hmmmmm :) This really helps to alleviate some of the anxiety I have about going to a beach and people noticing something off down there ;) I even noticed it on one of my favorite clothing store's website. And the model was a skinny lil thing much like myself. I don't nkow if anyone else has this anxiety, but if you do, then find solace in the fact that some cis-women have, as my boyfriend says, "A fat cat!" lmao ;D

Here is what the ultimate tuck job looks like. It's in there somewhere. :P

People do not pay attention so much to the bulge.
If you really concern about it, you may purchase miniskirt-like bikini.
I also sometimes wear it, with or without the skirt.

before vaginoplasty, I wore suits with shorts or skirts built in. But I did wear things like yoga pants pre-op with 2 pair of underwear to keep things in place
No tuck, just lucky that Mother Nature give me small parts (thankfully)

I also recommend the skirted bottom; they make them because cis women are self-conscious about their butt or thighs, so it's a fairly common design. I was able to wear a two-piece with a skirted bottom without tucking at all. It is true that a normal bikini runs the risk of looking like a men's Speedo and *accenting* any bulge that exists - I'd have been as paranoid as you are, that's for sure.
I totally get your fears, especially after getting in the water. I usually wear a tight panty under my bikini and or a skirted bikini or sarong .

I love sarongs when out of the pool! 💕
Wow, I'm very envious of all of you and your confidence.
Even after 13yrs post-op I've never ever worn a bikini or swim suit, never gone swimming or on the beach. Not been to the gym or swimming pool or sports hall. Never sunbathed, or ever let anyone see me less than fully clothed. Except for my boyfriend that is, I don't mind him looking at all ;D I can happily swan about at home completely naked and feel pretty good doing so. I don't even own such clothing items like bikinis and such.
I am way too body conscious to ever dare to do it, I am so sure I would be outed. The fear would just cause me to have a panic or anxiety attack or something.
I'm not sure I would ever get over that fear, and I'm getting older now, so that "window" is pretty much closing anyways.
My bump is noticeable but I have reached to point in life where I do not really give a rat's earlobe what others think. The fact that I usually only wear the bottoms does tend to divert attention from my bump! Just go for it!

very cool, can't wait to get a bikini
I want to do like you :D
LOL I can't tuck to save my life. I've come to the realization that I gotta just look at life. Tis what it is in life you gotta do what I can ya know?! And if not just do what you know you can and not worry about the WTF's... LOL

Here in my country, S. Korea, very few women wear bikini in the beach, and most of them are extremely skinny. Women tend to care too much about their own body figure, while men like to expose their body.
Even some of my female friends hate my photos of wearing bikini. My wearing bikini can be considered 'masculine', as I provoke those people.

Maybe I should holiday in S Korea? Sounds like I'd be OK with my covering up/bikini-phobia!
Seriously though, you look great, and you should keep on doing what you love to do :)

I wish I was that strong. I used to be, but these days I just don't have that defiant energy. Life has beaten it out of me. I hope you stay strong and proud forever Raye :)
Your comment about tucking reminds me of another anecdote. I transitioned at work, staying in the same job, and after a while, some of the ladies in the office became good friends of mine and were supportive towards me. One day, a couple of them asked me if they could ask me a personal question. At the time I was "loud and proud" and flying the Transgender flag at my work (where did that strength go?) so of course I said yes, ask away.
They said: "We're all dying to know, where is, err,
it and what have you done to it? Has it actually gone?"
I suddenly realised they were talking about my male genitalia :o
They continued: "Only we've all been looking and trying to spot a bulge, or
something , and you dare to wear such tight-fitting outfits, and, well, there's just no sign of it at all, not once".
I was a little bit taken aback as I hadn't realised I'd been so closely scrutinised!
But I smiled and explained what 'tucking' was, and how I went about it. I figured that educating people, especially those who were genuinely supportive and curious, was the right thing to do. Whether I was right about that I don't know, but I was young, naive and full of the joys of my newfound womanhood to be too concerned.
I guess at least I knew then that I was pretty successful at hiding what was 'down there'

Well I mean with what I got most of the looks go straight the butt, thighs, legs, and feet! :3

Yeahhh... I try not to show off my legs because I have a lot of scars from serving and other things... >.> And even with scars I know they seriously make the ladies jelleh! <3
I really gotta pick up those work clothes. Spent the whole day cleaning + took a nap I'm on an odd schedule with work + sleep now (still can't get much). I'm starting to eat much healthier now than I all ready do and I'm starting to work out more and more now. Cardio, Crunches, Situps, Pull Ups, and Push Ups! I don't really do any weight training because I get enough at work all ready! :3
My first "exhilarating" experience in a very public location in a women's bathing suit is coming up quickly. I ended up finding a one-piece that had shorts on the bottom instead of the typical ones and a loose skirt over top of it. So I don't have to wear what appears to be the "old lady" suits to hide stuff, but it's still functional.

You see, you're doing yourself down with that first comment.
But you do have really good legs, I'm very jelleh!
My thighs put on a
lot of weight on hrt, and there is no thigh gap at all. In fact, they rub together really badly all the way down to my knees, so I have to wear trousers or tights to stop the rubbing when I walk from quickly turning into painful blisters :(
I really needed my hips to widen to separate my chubby thighs but of course that didn't happen.
I also have really knobbly bony knees, they are simply awful! And the way my calf muscles stop halfway down the back of my legs is very masculine too. I have very bony protruding ankles, and whilst my feet are not very big, they are very very wide, with long double-jointed toes. Even my boyfriend asks me to cover up my legs as they are so hideous.
However, my bum is another story, I'm very pleased with how it turned out. In fact I think it's the best part of me, my best
asset (sorry). I'm quite proud of it. So, some you win, some you lose.
Today it was foggy, but I went to a nearby beach. People were in the water.
A lot of people glanced at me, as few women were wearing bikini. But only one young girl approached and studied me, probably including the bulge area. I could not know what she was looking at.
A family approached and did not watch me so much. They just had fun in the water.

Over the 4th of July weekend, I spent most of my time in my bikini bottom after worrying a little about someone noticing...that region. No one did, though we were on our boat at the harbor and everyone around knows me and who I am. It would appear that most people do not pay that close attention.
I have been wearing bikini bottoms prior to transition for about 12-15 yrs, in that time perhaps 2 people said anything and both were not rude comments. I recently purchased a "tankini" but have not worn it yet.
Just before taking off my top and skirt in the beach, I met one of my friends who was about to ride the bike. He was with other members of the biking group.
Nobody dared to approach me. It was a little bit strange, but some people watched from a distance.
I did not take care of the bulge. Black seems to be a fine color to hide the bulge.

As few women were wearing bikini here, I attracted attention of nearby people. Both men and women watched me, but men tended to avoid my eyes.
Anyway, I don't care about the bulge.

You should tuck that thing for a smooth look.
Sorry for not responding sooner to all the posts, but I was on vacation at a Caribbean island :D I wore a bikini pretty much every day I was there. Went to the beach quite often and received a plethora of stares. It made me so nervous that I went out and bought a scarf to wrap around that lower area. By the 4th day, I was at the forget it stage and didn't care if people saw anything and just enjoyed myself. Thank you all for your suggestions. As for the bikinis with skirts, I am not a fan of those.
Barbie - i wish I had enough courage to just sport the bulge and not give a hoot. Maybe one day I'll get there :)

That bikini set is a large 'L' size. Yesterday I picked up a small 'S' size. For tucking, I guess an 'S' size is fine.

Great! Yes. You have every right to enjoy yourself, not matter what other people think. Tucking is not so much critical.
There several small beaches near my home, and all can be reached within an hour by car.
Nowadays I usually wear a tube top, and at a traditional local market here, I heard a few old women shouting like "Nowadays those young chicks wear weird and bold clothes". Yes. A tube top alone attracts a lot of attention here.
