Title: Fluctuating voice
Post by: nukemhi on July 14, 2016, 04:32:49 AM
Hi. Reese here. This is my second post on Susan's place
I have been on T for 2 months and four days. Yes my voice has gotten deeper, but, on some days it seems to sound higher and more feminine. Then a few days to a week later it goes back down again. Tired of it Going up and down. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks.

Yeah this is normal for male puberty. It will fluctuate, start sounding deeper by the start of a sentence and then go low and feminine sounding again by the time you finish talking. Plus sound deeper on some days than others. I hated this phase as it made me feel like I was making no progress whatsoever, but my voice started to sound constantly deeper and male by 3 months, even though I still sounded like a 14yr old. By 5 or so months it started to sound a bit more grownup. So you're just going to have to ride it out :)

My voice did that even when I went through puberty originally because my voice changed as much as my brothers. Unfortunately, it was still pretty high.

Fluctuations happen for anyone whose voice changes drastically, and it can take awhile for it to permanently stay deeper.

Growing up AMAB my voice didn't change much around puberty.  Honestly it didn't start getting deeper until I was almost out of high school and further on.  As with anything it's very YMMV.

Very normal. Your voice will continue to fluctuate for a while. Most people don't have a single voice drop, but multiple ones over a year or two. So until your voice is completely done settling, I'd expect some fluctuations.

Even pre-T my voice was lower in the morning. I could pass when talking on the phone, and coworkers would think I was sick when I'd work in the morning because my voice was so much lower than later in the day.
