Hey everyone,
I am so sorry for all of the posts lately. My dysphoria has gotten pretty bad over just the past week and all of you are really helping a lot with it. Thanks for everything, you girls are the best!
On another note, I went swimming with my female friends today with my bikini set on! Apparently, I didn't realise that i wasn't really ready to go part time. It was a bit awkward as her father was out getting everything set up and I was mostly on the the side of the pool squatting down so he wouldn't see me. But the rest of the time I was so worked up about being out in the open that I didn't really talk a whole lot about anything. I answered a few of their questions about being trans but that was it. I'm not a very vocal girl, but I am also not a complete hermit. I know how to talk with people, and like talking with most people but around other girls I guess I get a little anxious. I'm able to converse with my guy friends like a champ, however I do listen to them more than I speak.
Maybe I am just observing how other women converse so I can learn to converse like them. I don't know though.
Does anyone have any clue as to what is going on with me?
Hmmm... Just getting your feet wet? Couldn't resist.
Being awkward is to be expected. None of us were socialized as females and TBH, born as one either. We are lacking. Incomplete.
Time, Practice, Patience
No worries supergirl23. It's wonderful to see you interacting. That is wonderful. I agree with Joanne that some awkwardness is normal especially at first. Observe, watch, and learn. Then put into practice. Always good to get your feet wet when your ready to. I kind of dove in with both feet when I started which definitely led to a few awkward moments early on. Hugs

But I literally just stood well swam there. That's a little more than awkward. I have really never been able to have a conversation with her. But I'm hoping we will start doing more things together.

Right of course. Maybe you should let your actions speak for you at this point and when the time is right you will be able to have that conversation with her. In other words I wouldn't force it unless your ready to but let it happen more naturally if you can. Regardless do what your comfortable doing and when. Hugs

So I should just ask her for her help with clothes and makeup and I will eventually be able to have a normal conversation with her?

I just want to have fun with her like her cis friends do.

I know this sounds really basic, but can't you bond over common interests? I've been able to bond with fairly feminine people over shared outlook and interests.
Think light subjects--movies/tv, hobbies (that could mean following women's soccer or exchanging recipes or knitting or rehabbing used furniture), talking about your kids. Some people like to tell or listen to long, involved stories but I'd only try that if I were a really good storyteller because it's easy to bore people.

I hadn't thought of that! That's how I got in with my guy friends. I guess I was making things more difficult than they had to be lol!
Thank you so much!
