Hello everyone,
I am new here mainly trying to find out if there are other unfortunate guys who had complications after their top surgeries that didn't get better over time?
I had a horrendous experience with my surgery and even though I am 1 year + post op, the problem still remains.
While my right side was not too bad in terms of healing my left side couldn't be worse. I even have my arm affected because of this! There is this constant bothersome sensation on the pectoral area (while I don't have this on the right side) and when I move my arm for example I also get it on the armpit, the left out dog ear, and a little further and my arm gets this sensation like it's kind of numb? Its so hard to explain it in words but I am beyond miserable that I am crying about this literally every single day because I am failing to get over this fact that it's not going to get better!
It didn't stop there of course because there is also a visual mess up indeed. The left nipple was badly placed, and looks damaged, the incision line is off like the nipple and of course a dog ear even when I was told that I would't need to worry about one since I was slender. I could just ignore the messed up look by not looking at my chest but the initial problem I cannot ignore.. I wouldn't be surprised if my nerves was damaged.
I of course have no intention to go to the same surgeon who messed it up and dared to charge me for a revision like I would even trust them again.
All of my post op experiences were wasted as well because I would get talked over by hearing how PERFECT my chest looked while disregarding the present issue by telling me to give it more time. TIME IS UP and I have no patience anymore.
I mean what if I got the revision from another surgeon? What is the gurantee of this problem being fixed?None, right? :embarrassed:

Hi there, I don't know a whole lot but I do know that there are surgeons who do revisions. I'm so sorry to hear about how bad it turned out, it's the fear of everyone who goes to have surgery and no one deserves to be unhappy with their body.. I don't know where you are located but are you willing to travel? I would research top surgeons who can do good revision and hopefully some people here will have more info and advice.
I don't know about numbness, but the surgeon I went to, Dr Sajan in Seattle, does revisions. One of his staff was telling me at a post op appointment that he was able to do a super job at fixing up someone else's top surgery that was originally done by another surgeon. As for my own results just from him I'm super happy, everything is healing great, it's symmetrical, it's cleanly done.. I would also look into some skilled surgeons closer to you if travel is an issue. There's hope! With preserverence I'm sure you can find someone to help you and help to make you feel good about at least the physical appearance!
I don't know how far you are from Florida but I believe Dr.Garramone does revisions on people who had bad results from another surgeon. I personally never went to him but I see a lot of guys who went and he has great results.
Welcome to the forum, I'm very sorry to hear you are going through this. It is possible, depending on the nature of the problem in the area, that it could be rectified. A lot of that will also depend on the skill of the surgeon and if they are good they are likely to be expensive. I do hope you can find a solution but in the meantime it might be helpful to talk to a counsellor to explore ways of developing coping techniques so that it doesn't cause you so much anxiety.
I'd definitely consider a revision from another, established surgeon. Like RaptorChops mentioned, Dr. Garramone in FL frequently does these. I know my surgeon (Dr. Fischer) does as well. Dr. Medalie would be another one to consider. I'd have someone help you take some good pictures, and send those off to a well known surgeon's office. Tell them what your issue is, ask how much it would take to fix it.
I have a friend whose surgery was fairly botched the first time around. He recently had a revision with Dr. Dulin and you can't even tell there was ever an issue. It's amazing what a good surgeon can do.
Dr. Garramone (my surgeon), Dr. Fischer and Dr Medalie all have good reputations and do revisions. There's another doctor whose name is can't remember right now but He's pretty well known as well.
Like FTMax suggested, take a few photos and do a phone consultation with the various offices. I know for sure that Dr. Garramone and Dr. Fischer are both very straightforward and honest about what they can and cannot do. Dr. Medalie I never talked too but the reputation is solid.
I'm sorry you're going through this. But don't give up. A good surgeon will be able to the revisions and have you where you want to be.

I am sorry you experiencing such difficulty. I hope you find a solution soon.
I noticed that there are four accounts with the same IP address you have. Is it possible you have a few older accounts that are still active. Or is it possible someone else uses that address that has an account under another name here?
Susan's only allows one active account at a time.
If you could let me know if you might have one or two other accounts that might be active I would appreciate it and hope to have them removed.(If it is two people on one machine, that is fine)
With gratitude,
Joanna
Ihatemybody, it's possible you have nerve damage but I wonder have you tried post operative massage yet? I had limited range of movement post op and it turned out my pecs were drawn incredibly tight. You can get numbness and tingling from muscle spasms. Muscle spasm is a very common complication after chest surgery of any kind.
I would see a massage therapist at a joint that does physical therapy. Ask them up front if they do post op massage. It really helps a lot. (Obviously it changes nothing aesthetically. Good luck with finding a better surgeon.)
