Title: some thing that happened at work today
Post by: KristyWalker on July 18, 2016, 09:17:57 PM
I asked a costumer to please refrain from saying "dude and bro" when talking to me he did but a customer behind him who was a trans woman who was a few costumers back got to me and said "it might be easier if you did not look like a brick!" I do not know what "a brick" is but I knew by the way she said it, i could tell it was intended as an insult I can take insults from cis people but from some one like me it hurts even more.  I have been crying off and on all evening.

Sorry that happened. Think of the issues she must have to want to say that to another person. I wish there were not mean people in the world, but sadly there are.

Sadly, it does sound like an insult. I'm sorry that you had that occur anywhere let alone your work place. Hugs

Sorry that happened, that's quite horrible. Especially at work where it's not so easy to just walk away. Remember that people who usually insult others, are usually ones who are having troubles with themselves. I can't help but think of that expression I heard as a kid, of when a person point a finger at someone there are three fingers pointing back at them.

Hi Kristy,
I may be miss reading and probably am as I can be quite the male brain a lot. Unless you had asked that person their reason for the response then your guess at their meaning could be quite opposite. My wife and I have a lot of similar go between conversations/innuendos and time makes things more clear. While one customer can be rude another may be trying to reach out??
Sorry but my glass is always half full
No matter our place in life comments hurt and I had one large one from my wife tonight. I chose to ignore and focus on a subject positive for me, by tomorrow it will be gone from my mind and then moving on is easier.
Keep calm and have a good nights sleep.
Hugs
Sue.

Cheers Sue.

What a nasty person ... I've said before and I'll say it again Trans people especially trans women need to stop policing other trans peoples bodies. Unfortunately being a fellow trans woman doesn't necessarily make someone an ally to the trans community at large . Sadly there are some  people out there  who feel that the only way they can secure a place in this world is by knocking someone else down.  Calling someone a "brick" doesn't make her any prettier. Hold your head up high my love , you are beautiful ! And I don't need to look at you to know that .
