WARNING: The misgendering is rampant through both articles.
It looks like some serious jail time is in order.

Expect to see this case brought up for years to justify a wide range of constraints from bathroom laws, to registration, out to pink triangles in our wardrobe.
Yes. It's unfortunate but in any group of people there will invariably be a subset who do wrong. Our adversaries will seize on this and with their impeccable thinking skills conclude that if one person in a group is bad then therefore the entire group is bad. They already use this logic on Muslims. However, the exception to this rule is with Christians. If one Christian is bad it does not mean that all Christians are bad. It simply means that the one who was bad is not really a Christian. See how that works?
I wouldn't mention that specific group at all except I made the mistake of reading the comments where in multiple posts Jesus' name was invoked to declare that you, I, and every other one of us is a mentally ill degenerate pervert.

That wasn't a transgender person. He and yes I mean he was just some pervert pretending to be transgendered.
Actually the evidence would seem to indicate otherwise as she is reported to have a female name and was living in a transitioned state. There is no information though on whether she had started any sort of medical transition.
It wouldn't matter to rationale people regardless as the actions of one are not the actions of the whole group.
And of course cis women have been known to take pics in change rooms too. If they did in fact take those pics then they broke the law. If they violated someone else's private space/privacy then it doesn't matter if they are trans or cis women or 'a cis guy pretending to be trans to get some jollies', then they need to be charged. I do suspect though that regardless this is is just the blanket justification haters need to hate.
Anyone pulls it out on you, then pull out some of these...

I am sure there are many more that was from a quick google search.
I said it best in a speech I gave to Leadership Clarksville this year...
QuoteI have a simple suggestion to lawmakers, as well as anyone who finds someone who is transgender sharing your restroom... If anyone in the women's or the men's room, man or woman, is doing something suspicious like exposing themselves, or peeking through the cracks of the stall, then by all means call the police. However, if they are simply using the facilities like anyone else, let them be.
"the defendant's roommate told (the investigator) her roommate is a transgender male who identifies as a female, Shauna Smith."
::)
that's just confusing...
I hate that term, "identify as", when it is applied to us. It implies that our gender is external to our essence and lends the impression there is some choice involved. It also provides ammunition to our adversaries who like to joke about identifying as dogs and helicopters. In their case though it may be true that they identify as jackasses. I wish they would clear up the terminology and just say he or she IS A trans man or trans woman. That much better communicates how we come to know ourselves.
Rant off!

Yes, but this is against the basic principle of transgender movement. Ask transgender activists. According to them self-identification is the only legitimate basis of being transgender. It doesnt matter what you are, or if you medically transition, or if there is any biological basis for you to be transsexual. It only matters who you
identify as.
I think it limits our ability to be understood. But I think I understand the activists point if they are trying to achieve something more than what I have stated.
It only takes one bad apple or should I say Banana, to screw it up for the rest of us. Months of work or even years can be washed away but just one fool...Yes I'm being kind. Trying to get the laws changed for the better.
This sounds WAY too fishy. At a Target Store? In a consecrative state like Idaho? I don't buy it.
Since the vast majority of such crimes are committed by heterosexual males, perhaps any restriction of rights should begin with them. ...Seriously. Whatever this individual did - she should be jailed and then we move on.

"charged as Sean Smith with one felony count of video voyeurism after the alleged incident Monday"
no hrt, no name change no anything, just a wig and dress and an excuse of "same reason men go online to look at pornography"
picture shows zero effort, still has facial hair etc etc. I can't see a single thing that would indicate this person was trans.
None of this seems legit to me. Just happens to be THAT store in THAT country, at THIS time when THAT law is constantly in the media.
Seems to be enough evidence for me to skeptical, sure some of us wear wigs, some can't afford laser, some can't get hrt , some struggle with name changes, some of us can't pluck our eye brows because of not out yet. But all this together getting caught doing something so odd in those circumstances. Things that make you go hmm.
Further investigation reveals she is in fact trans. Also the changing room at this store is unisex, which means anyone male or female can use these rooms. She was sentenced to 2 to 5 years in prison.
