Hello yes! I am here.
I've known that I am a transman for over a decade, but only in the past few months have I come to a place where I can start working on coming out, transitioning, and living as my own true self. I'm headed to a family reunion soon, where I plan to come out. I want to get all that fallout over with before I start on testosterone. They'll be getting a double whammy of "I am your son" and "your son is gay", so I'm not getting my hopes up, but I hope we'll all still be on speaking terms by the end of the weekend.
I'm a giant awkward nerd with no partner or spouse (nor, being FTM and gay, any real prospects of future romance) and few close friends (most of whom I have already come out to, in preparation for the big reveal to my family). Life is a bit lonely but otherwise pretty good -- I have a good job, the weather is fine, and dinner will be ready any minute now.
Hi! You've found what may be the best forum and 24/7 ad hoc support group on the Internet.
Even better, there are lots and lots of us nerds here!
I bet a moderator will be along any minute with an official greeting, but I just wanted to say Hi!

Welcome! I'm new here too. However, my transition (MTF) was about 26 years ago.
I wanted to say that what you are doing takes a lot of courage. I believe that the social step, of telling the important people in your life who you really are and what you intend to do is one of the most difficult parts of the whole process. However, what I found when I spoke to people was that they were far more accepting than I ever imagined. And that was in 1990. I believe that people respect honesty and sincerity.
The way I did it was to tell most friends, family and co-workers one at a time. It was time consuming, but worth it. I think most people appreciated that I valued them enough to take the time.
Anyway, welcome again and good luck to you.
Welcome to Susan's Place. It looks like Michelle lost her bet because even moderators need to take breaks every so often. In any case, I am another nerd and it sounds like you are in for an exciting time. I hope it works out well for you and if there is anything I can help you with, let me know.
