Hi
I don't know how much it's the hormones to what extent it's IPL (although it appears to be happening on my neck and chest too, but has anyone else found their skin tone getting lighter on oestradiol/ testosterone suppression?
I noticed the other day that my previously well matched foundation is looking orangy on my skin.
I know tone varies but it's summer here and I'd expect this to go in the other direction (despite this being Scotland)
Thanks
Jess
P.S. Any FTM noticed the opposite?
My skin tone has gotten light ivory foundation is to dark for me im trying to find a better matching foundation

Never heard this happen; just that your hair colour may change slightly. Maybe your skin seems lighter because your skin is clearer and softer looking.
Your skin tone will lighten up through hormone therapy.
Women in general tend to have lighter skin than men. They also have a slightly greener cast compared to men's red tones. (You notice this when you do a ton of photo color correction.)
Personally, I think my skin has gotten slightly lighter but its tough to say for sure.
Eyes are bluer
Hair is brighter red
Skin is so very pale and my freckles show more
*raises hand*
im practically a jellyfish now ^-^
Totally. That's one of the first things I noticed.
Yep me too. Lightens up and looks softer/younger. I also burn in the sun faster, which makes good sense.
Yup. Definitely looking pale and anaemic, but just thought I was staying in more than usual. It's Wintery here and even a few seconds in the sun feel like a blowtorch to the face :o
for me the biggest change is that i burn so much quicker now, but i also tan really well once i get past that so its hard for me to tell
but i will say skin changes is a guarantee just how much of a change is always one of those hard questions
mine has. i believe this is due to the thinning of the skin in mtf hrt.
Lighter skin may be dependant on a number of factors. While on E, I managed (once) to tan so dark, that I was called the N word. These days, I don't spend enough time outdoors to tan. I don't want the cancer risk either.
Yeah, it happens oftenly. My tone went lighter too.
Yes me too. Lighter is more fair and feminine. Hugs Shannon
For me, my skin tone changed a great deal.
I had that dark ruddy red male look to my skin.
Now, after almost 2 years HRT, it's so light in comparison - it's insane.
I do think that a lot of the look is also due to electrolysis and the resulting difference in the look of the face.
I had a 5 o'clock shadow at 9am and now (while I am by no means done) I am going back for my 9th clearing and I only have a bit of the black hair left. It's very slowly getting better. I must have had a VERY thick beard.
It did get lighter at first but now I'm brown and black in some areas and darker shades of brown and red, depending on the lighting. I have to constantly color edit my photos because my skin color varies so much in diff lights, if I dont my skin looks washed out. Its really annoying. My skin gets incredibly dark in some areas when I take P consistently, like inner thighs, hips, genital region.
It's odd, my skin is getting darker. I was thinking of raising it with my doctor next time we check in.
I've often thought about this myself. I know that I am much lighter but I've not been in the sun at all. Winter is coming after all and the UV index will be low for the next 5 months here in Nebraska.
Does not skin tend to get drier with mtf HRT?
How about thinner? If subcutaneous fat increases with mtf HRT, maybe skin looks lighter wth more fat under the skin as opposed to more muscle under the skin?
If skin has less body hair, would it appear lighter for that reason too?

I can attest to the skin getting dryer. I don't know if lighter and thinner hair would make the skin look lighter. I've seen some pale people with dark arm and leg hair.
That is all that I know first hand. I guess I will find out in the next few months.
I have been on E 18 months. Yeah a little bit lighter but not dramatically. It is noticeably softer and the reduced body hair is nice. I only have to shave it every few weeks now instead of once a week.
The tone difference is more on my body than on my face - wish it was the opposite.
My family told me that it has. But I just think it my face mostly got softer and clearer. Also laser and beard shadow lightening up helps too.
