Title: I am proud of my decision
Post by: DawnOday on August 15, 2016, 12:31:23 PM
Hey everybody. I just changed my profile to reflect what I have learned these last five month. I am no longer questioning, I am female. I always knew it, there was just too much baggage to carry. I really appreciate and admire the young people making the transition. You are an inspiration to us old folks who suffered in silence, guilt, and the misimpression we are somehow perverted. I'm not a pervert I was predestined to be me because of medical malpractice and the prescription to my mother of DES synthetic hormones for treatment of still births and miscarriages. It's taken a long, long time to discover and I embrace it.

Congratulations!  Clarity is hard to find, but don't you just love it when you get it?  It is such a big step to know who you are.

Congratulations, Dawn! It's hard to let go of all that baggage and simply accept yourself for who you truly are.

Here's a big virtual hug to you, girlfriend!

It is sometime hard to accept the actual decision even though you have known you needed to make it since you were a child.  I have heard people ask why some wait until after fifty to begin and I always say that sometimes a career gets in the way not to mention the way the times were.  Although, I should have done this in 1996, or the eighties like I had originally planned to but things tend to get in the way and I was not strong enough back then.  Well, there is no time like the present.

I have two unrelated questions:
1)  How do you get that F under gender?
3)  How to you embed the ticker without pasting it every time?  I go to preferences when I am in this forum and I do not see a way to do it.

I certainly hope quality is on a sliding scale in my case.  That or as Stalin said, quantity has a quality all its own.

Thank you!

Oh yes, does the need to answer the verification questions three, also go away at fifteen posts?

I am not sure when it goes away because it's about 6,500 posts ago but it will be gone at 15 posts. About the only thing that remains is the ability to applaud or smite and that you get at 50 posts.

Congratulations, Dawn!  Accepting our own true nature is something that I think gets harder and harder to do as we get older, but it is a wonderful relief once we can do it.

It really is something you can be proud of!

Thank you all so very much. It's been a long time coming. I don't know if I was scared so much for me, as to the hell it would put my family through. All I know is the excitement I feel right now. It's been a while.

Go to Profile/forum profile the gender question is about 1/3 of the way down.
Going down a little further about 2/3 of the way down under Custom Title there is a text box to enter whatever, salutation, timeline, emoji's, quotes.

Hope this helps.
