Title: High white blood count
Post by: ChiGirl on August 22, 2016, 10:55:42 AM
I've been having consistently elevated white blood counts since I started HRT.  My doc has said not to worry, but this last test came out much higher.  My kidney levels are off as well because of "high lactone levels."  I don't know what to do.

I am running into that problem too, i am even seeing a specialists to make sure it's nothing bad. Apparently this happens with some trans woman.

It can be hard to determine the cause.

I've had elevated WBC for a long time, before beginning T. I should probably get my levels checked again, the odd thing is I haven't had a day sick in years, and high WBC count usually follows an infection of some kind. Doc told me it could be stress, it could be cancer, it could be viral, could be anything basically, but if they've told you the levels are not high enough to worry about then I guess there's no cause for alarm. I do take vitamin B8 which is supposed to directly enhance the immune system, which could be it, but I suspect not since taking it is something I've only done in the last year.

I had elevated WBC for a while. They never determined a cause for it, as everything else looked great and I wasn't exhibiting any signs of sickness or infection. After a while like that, they just assumed that was par for the course for me.
