Title: Any good therapists in Twin Cities area?
Post by: MistyKirwan on August 26, 2016, 08:16:26 AM
Hello, I'm looking for a good therapist in Twin Cities (MN) area. One that can also write a letter for HRT.

My mom says I will need to see a therapist and I am trying to convince her maybe if the therapist can write a letter supporting HRT for me I can do it then.

My only requirement is I just want them to be an accepting therapist.

Thank you

I guess this is a couple weeks old, so not sure if it's relevant for you anymore or not - but there are plenty of HRT providers around the twin cities that don't require therapists letters, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

This link should help.  You can sort for "Transgender Health - Prescribing Hormones" under "Specialties and Experience."  I'm on the wait list at the U and have also been looking into other options for the meantime.

Having now had my first appointment at the UofM with the second this coming week, I can't tell you how happy I am with them. My first session was great. The therapist was already going to arrange and appointment with the Doctor (who is on staff) to talk about hormones. It was a long wait to get in, but so far it is looking like it was very much worth the wait.
