I've been on T since March of this year.
Lately, I've been losing hair.. like, a lot. All it takes is running my hand through my hair and I can get at least 10 strands at a time. I find my hair everywhere. On the floor, on my furniture, on my shirt, in the shower, all through the sink. There's balding on both sides of my family, and not even the women are safe, as I have an aunt who is nearly completely bald and my mother has thinning on her scalp as well.. so I'm really paranoid. If anyone could tell me what they think of it, and if it looks like it's visibly thinning, it would be much appreciated so I can take the appropriate measures to try to counter it while it's still in the early stages. I am so ridiculously scared of balding it's not even funny. I know that sounds vain, but my head is way too round to rock the bald look.

I am unable to judge from the photos but if you think you are losing hair, it's likely you are. This should be discussed with your endo because there are medications that will stop additional hair loss. If you act quickly you will regrow what you have lost but if you wait, the loss will be permanent. There is nothing wrong with liking your hair as many men look better with it.

Thank you for replying to this thread. :)
It's not really receding at the front, so much as just looking like my part is thinning and revealing more of my scalp, hence why the angles of the photos are more focused at the top. /shrug
I'll definitely mention it to my doctor. Hopefully I can get on something soon and stop it in its tracks.
It looks like the beginning of female pattern hair loss, which a friend of mine has. She has thin hair to begin with and it seems like you do too. Let us know what the doctor says about it.

Yeah, I thought the same. I've been having a lot of tingling and burning in my scalp lately, so I know something is up. Is she on any certain regimen for combating it? The people in my family seem to just accept their fates and go bald, but I can't picture that for me. Not only am I only 19, but I'd look like I have an egg for a head. Being pale with a round head/face is a bad combination for baldness.
Welcome to my world :-(
I first noticed my balding in my early 20s. It was not unexpected as baldness is passed via a sex-linked gene via ones mother. So the way a man can predict baldness is his maternal grandfather.
Sure enough my father's family had no baldness but my mother's grandfather did and all the men in my maternal grandmother's family as well as all of her son's did also. Therefore I took it as inevitable.
The reason women don't usually go bald is that the gene is only expressed in the presence of testosterone. I'm afraid there's little you can do to avoid. For my part, the first time I realized hair loss had progressed so far was when I suffered a bad sunburn at the back/top of my head. I'd had no reason to look there and so simply hadn't realized it had progressed so far. I've worn hats in sunshine religiously ever since.
Take heart? many people find a bald head a sign of virility.
I would speak to your doctor about it. Cutting your T dose is an option, but if it's genetic loss and your hair is already thin, it may not help you. Rogaine could be an option.

My dad is pretty much almost completely bald except for a few patches of hair here and there on his head. He generally keeps it clean shaven though. His father is in his 70's and still has a whole head of hair, oddly enough. I wish I had taken after him. I've only seen my mother's father maybe twice in my entire life (he's not a good person), but I do recall him being almost completely bald as well. Go figure.
I realized my hair felt like it was thinning/falling out about a month ago, but I suppose it wasn't visible enough yet, as my doctor just sort of scoffed and attributed it to nerves and offered to prescribe me an antidepressant when I asked him about it. It was bound to happen eventually seeing how my mother also has thinning hair on her scalp that happened not long after going through menopause, I was just kind of hoping it wouldn't.
The men in my family can grow amazing facial hair (I'm pretty sure all Italians are actually lycanthropes tbh), so I'll just do this. ;) ::)

What exactly would cutting my dosage do? I'm just curious, I've read about people doing it when faced with hair loss, but I don't really understand. Would it slow my changes or really have much of an effect on halting this? Since this is FPB, when using Rogaine, should I be on the 2% dosage, or since I'm FtM, should I do the men's dosage of 5%? Also, sort of random, but I've read stories about Rogaine killing cats because of the residue it can leave on stuff such as sheets/pillow cases. I have two fur babies and I would be devastated if I lost them. I'm sorry I'm so full of questions and I know that there's threads like this made a lot, but I mostly saw people with MPB as opposed to FPB. I should probably throw all of these questions at my doctor, but I figured I'd ask anyway in case you or anyone else might have an idea. Sorry if it's overwhelming!

It's more of a preventative measure for guys experiencing MPB due to T. If you're confident that what you're dealing with is FPB, I don't know that changing your dose would help you.
Your doctor would be the best person to go to. They would be able to rule out other causes of hair loss and recommend a course of action for you. I don't know anything about Rogaine other than that people use it or Minoxidil to deal with balding or thinning hair.
I think Chase Ross may have a video about hair loss? I'm not 100% sure but I want to say his doctor's solution was Spironolactone. I don't know how that works in conjunction with T or if it would be effective for FPB. So again, your doctor would be the best resource to consult. But having ideas to take to that visit can't hurt.
